Promised to keep her safe,
Promised to come back
In this lifetime.
Promised to kiss her lips every night,
Promised to love her forever and ever.
But all that was left of him was a letter.
A single letter,
Telling her that he
Can't and mustn't
Come back.
So with an infant she cried,
Grieving the loss of her one and only,
True love.
