How is it possible
For the world to convince
Young men and women
That they aren't enough,
That their baby fat is disgustingly unacceptable,
That their breasts are either too big
Or too small.
That their back sides are too obvious
Or not obvious enough.
That their thin lips need to be surgically enhanced,
And that naturally full lips are too plump.
Or that their stomachs aren't toned enough,
That they need to look like supermodels with abs and six packs.
I am scared to be a mother one day.
I am scared knowing that my children will possibly grow up in a world where only physical appearance matters,
Not what they carry inside.
I am terrified to let them grow up in a world where their bodies are a trend,and that they need to change it as they come and go.
And that brings tears to my eyes.
Tears of disappointment and sadness.
