At the start of the year, if you had told me that I'd be having ice-cream with, let alone best friends with Cassidy Price, Logan Reece, Cameron Jude and Elliot Grey, I Grace Storm would've submitted you to a mental asylum after checking I wasn't the victim of some sick prank show. Yet here I am now, having ice-cream with my best friends Cassidy, Logan, Cameron and Elliot.
Wondering how it all happened?
Well, let's start from the first day of senior year...
(A.N// everything from now shall be from the start of the year in present tense. If you're confused, just comment and I'll explain it better.)
"This is going to be the best year ever!" Maddison, my best friend, announced as we reached my locker.
"You say that every year Mads." I countered while opening up my locker.
"Yeah, but this year, I just know it!" she told, me adamant on proving her point.
"Okay, whatever you say." I chimed while shuffling through the contents of my locker which had remained untouched during the summer holidays.
"I'm gonna go to the bathroom. I'll see you in English." Maddison said before walking off.
Today was officially the first day of senior year and to say the excitement was higher than a buffalo on drugs...would be a total lie. This is high school people, we've been here for four years- it's nothing new.
"Stupid locker." somebody muttered beside me causing me to turn towards them, my heart beat picking up just a little.
Next to me stood Elliot Grey in all his 'bad boy' glory.
Elliot was Ridgemond High's resident bad boy. His windswept hair and bad boy aura captured the hearts (and hormones) of most of the female population here. Unfortunately for the girls that tried to throw themselves at him, there was one stereotype he lacked: being a player. That's the thing that drew me to him.
"Need some help?" I stifled a smile as he lightly punched the metal door.
You see, Elliot and I had this mini rivalry thing going. The few times we'd exchanged words, we'd somehow always try and do one over the other.
"You think you can open it when I can't?" he raised an eyebrow as his signature smirk overcame his features.
Ignoring his remark, I asked for his pin and gently spun the code in. The thing most students at this school hadn't figured out was that, the more force you apply, the more resistant the lockers become. Kind of reminds you of teenagers, don't you think?
"Let me give you a tip Elliot," I smirked at his agitated expression once I allowed the locker door to swing open, "never bring up sexual stereotypes in front of a feminist."
He glanced at me for a moment then turned back to his locker.
"I loosened it for you." he tried to justify.
"It's a locker, not a bottle top." I retaliated while closing my locker door.
He turned his gaze back to me staring at my eyes. After a couple of seconds, I turned around and walked away.
That's how it usually went with the two of us. At the end of our 'discussion', one of us would walk away after a mini stare down.
"I still loosened it!" he shouted after me making me smile at his typical alpha male gene.
Hm, maybe this year will be different. Elliot never says anything after I walk away.
Well hello there!
I hope you enjoyed the mini preview. The first chapter will be updated soon and will be much longer than this update, so stick around.
