Brandon’s POV

What was Hailey about to say before she realized I was in here? Whatever it was it freaked Aiden out, he hasn’t said a word sense she came in here. He is just glaring at her as if she said something that I wasn’t supposed to know.

“Aiden, what is she talking about.” I get up and sit next to him on the bed. “What are you keeping from me. I thought that we were best friends and we could tell each other everything.” It is kind of upsetting to know that he is keeping something that is obviously important to him hidden from me.

I wonder if it is about his dad. He doesn’t really talk about him much. I met him a couple time before he passed away about two years ago, but we didn’t really have any kind of conversation other than the usual “Hi, how are you” and stuff.

“Uh, well, you see, um. Have you seen that new movie ‘The Heat’? It is hilarious.” Oh my god. What is so damn important that he can’t tell me? He is trying to change the subject.

“AIDEN!” I said in my whiniest voice I could do, “Why are you changing the subject? What is so bad that you can’t tell me?” I look over at him and he looks as if he is going to cry at any moment. His eyes are all watery. Shit, it probably is about his dad then. Awh, I feel so bad!

I reach over and pull him into a bone crushing hug. Then I hear Hailey in the background going “Awh, look at the two of you being all cute together, you would make an adorable couple!” why is she even in here anymore anyways? She is the one that got him all upset. Why would she stick around and make it seem like she thinks we should be cute gay boyfriends?

“Hailey, will you go away? Until you came in here he was fine and we were having fun playing x-box. Now look at him. He is upset and I hate seeing him upset.” I said to her and she just looked at me like I had ran over her cat. I guess she didn’t realize that she had upset him.

“Oh my god, Aiden. I am so sorry!” she says bending down so that her face was level to his. “I thought that maybe you would want to talk about it so I came in here, but I had no idea that he was here, I swear!”

Aiden looked up at her and just shook his head. I think he just wanted to be alone right now. “Hailey, why don’t you and I go get some breakfast or something and leave Aiden alone for a while.” I suggested.

“NO, I mean. You came over here so we could hang out. We are going to hang out, play video games and waste away this school day that we skipped out on.” Aiden all but demanded.

“Okay then, drama queen. I just thought maybe you wanted a little alone time.” I chuckled. He got off his bed and walked Hailey to the door. Well, I wouldn’t say walked, it was more like a push but either way he got rid of her and closed the door behind her.

Hailey used to have a huge crush on me when I first started hanging out with her brother. She would follow us around everywhere we would go. I mean, she is kind of cute. With her chocolate brown eyes just like her brothers and her red curly hair. But I would never date her. First of all she is younger than me by two years and she is my best friends sister. I wouldn’t want to ruin my friendship with Aiden over his sister.
