Lily

I was already depressed but now it's different. Now its not just me, it's everyone. Over the past two weeks strange things have been happening. Out of my bedroom window I see a husky man in a trench coat. He walks up to a woman suspiciously. The woman has a little girl with her, she reminds me of me. I think nothing of it, until he pulls out a silver blade. Ten years earlier.

"MOMMY!!! PLEASE HELP ME!!! I LEFT MY TEDDY BEAR AT SCHOOL!!!"

"Calm down Lily, I'll get it back"

After my mom got it back we went to the bank. She needed to make a deposit. I was waiting in line when a husky man in a black trench coat walked in. I didn't think much of it, until he pulled out a silver blade. I tried to warn her but it was too late. Her blood spattered onto the wall and I screamed in fear. My mother, who took care of me, was gone, and I did nothing about it.

My mind was clouded with rage and anger, but most of all fear. I  had grabbed the knife and dashed at the man. When my tears were finally dry I looked at my hands and screamed. They were covered in blood. Not my blood, the blood of another human. Another precious life that I destroyed, A candle that I blew out, an old discarded toy. The man's eyes were blank. Like as if nothing ever happened. I sat there miserable, all alone. That's how I knew that life hated me.

Now as I laid in my bed next to the window and knew that I had to act quickly. Running outside in an attempt to save the woman,  I hesitated, and that's how I failed. As I ran towards the woman I saw the blade, and in one swift motion,it  let itself slide along the woman's throat. I grabbed his knife and sent it flying towards him. The knife stuck imbetween his eyes. With one last look of terror his eyes rolled back. The little girl was petrified. I held her in my arms and she screamed,

"MOMMY!!! PLEASE WAKE UP!!! DON'T GO TO SLEEP, ITS NOT BED TIME YET! YOU PROMISED THAT YOU WOULD TAKE ME TO SEE THE STARS WITH YOU!!"

The girl struggled against my grip. I let go and she ran to her mom. I needed to take care of this girl, not because I want to... because I need to.
