Time skip to next day
The next day while Hamen was working with Hephaestus, Hamen was getting ready to ask his question. "Father, can I ask a favor?" "Well only if it's reasonable to ask." Hephaestus replied. Hamen was getting nervous now. 'C'mon', he thought. 'I'm only asking my father a question. He'll probably see it as reasonable. He gathered his thoughts and asked the question, "Can I Have some fire?" " Why would you need fire my son?" Hephaestus questioned. "I wan to give it to the humans." Hamen whispered. 'I see no reason to let them have it." The fire God was starting to raise his voice now. "I have a few reasons," Hamen said nervously. "The humans are so cold in the winter and at night. They also can't eat raw meat, they need to cook."
Hephaestus wasn't pleased, "The humans shouldn't use fire, they would hurt themselves. They would start fires in their homes and burn down the whole village. It would just be too dangerous for them." Hamen didn't see this as fair. He barely asked his father for anything and he got no for an answer. He still had to convince his father somehow. "But fathe-" "No Hamen! That is my final answer!" Hepaestus yelled. "Now get out of my sight!" Hamen got out as quick as he could.
That night Hamen was dissapointed. The humans would've been careful with the fire. Then an idea popped up in his mind. If Hephaestus wouldn't give him the fire, he could just steal the fire from Mt. Aetna. Hamen didn't even think that he was stealing from his own father, he just wanted to give the humans fire so badly. After that thought he started to devise a plan. Hephaestus never worked at night, so Hamen would sneak into the mountain at night, steal some fire and then sneak back out.
While Hamen was working with his father all day, he was acting so nervous around him. Hephaestus started to notice. Whenever he said something to Hamen, he would reply in a shaky voice. "Hamen." Hephaestus said. "Y-yes father?" Hamen asked nervously. "Why have you been so jumpy and nervous today my son?" hamen brushed his red firey like hair out of his eyes. "W-what are you talking avouth father? I'm f-fine." Hamen lied. Hephaestus diecided to brush off how were Hamen was aacting and focused on his work. The only thing he didn't know that something was going to be stolen from him.
