His Jade

Chapter Seven

Jade's POV

I was listening to Mr Black's instructions when I heard the elevator ding. I hoped that was my new boss so introductions could be made.

"Great, so you can set up in your office and ...ooh here comes Mr White".

I turned around to see him and I froze, literally. OMG it was him, Mark. Wait a minute. I was told my boss' name was Lucas not Mark. Therefore if his name is Lucas then that means he lied to me. Why would he do that? It's not like I would have asked him to marry me. This is not the 18th century. Mr Black went on to introduce the both of us oblivious to the uneasiness in the air.

" Good morning sir I'm Jade Collins". I introduced myself when he couldn't say anything. He finally found his voice and also introduced himself to me. After he gave me some work to do and invited Mark to his office. Probably to tell him everything, I think. After he left I took my phone and texted Kat.

Kat you won't believe what just happened- Jade.

What happened? Trouble at work already? What, are the guys fighting to decide who would date you? #wink wink - Kat

Nooo Kat be serious. Remember the guy I lost my V-card to? - Jade

Yeah Mark right?. Wait does he work there too? - Kat.

Ha ha that's really funny #sarcasm - Jade

Why what happened Jade? Tell me. - Kat.

It turns out his name is not really Mark it's Lucas and the kicker is he is my boss and also owns the company. Well it's his family's company. - Jade.

What!!!!??????. - Kat.

Imagine my shock too Kat. Actually imagine his. He couldn't even introduce himself so I introduced myself first. - Jade

Are you going to quit? - Kat.

No I'm not. I'll just do what he asks me to and avoid trouble. He probably has a girlfriend. - Jade.

That's the spirit girl. Hang in there. Got to go. I'm baking brownies and you need your own batch. - Kat.

Thanks Kat. I have to go too. Someone is calling. - Jade.

I picked up and and it turns out Lucas wanted to see me. I put my phone away, smoothed my skirt and made my way over to his office. I knocked, heard him say I should come in and entered.

What can I do for you sir?" I asked him. I looked at him for a minute and still he hadn't said anything. It seems he couldn't speak.

"Sir? Mar..sorry Mr White? You called for me". It seems me almost calling him Mark snapped him out of whatever thought he was lost in.

"Umm sorry Jade, Miss Collins. Please have a seat."

I sat down and looked at him. He seemed nervous. Maybe he'll apologize for lying to me. Would I accept?

"Umm Miss Collins, Jade, as you already know my name is Lucas not Mark."

"I have an excellent hearing Mr White". I replied dryly.

"Hehe", he laughed nervously. " I know. What I'm trying to say is that I'm really sorry I lied to you. I didn't mean to but I said that name before I realised I had. I hope you can forgive me ". He said all these while looking earnestly in my eyes.

" Mr White, I'm not thrilled you lied to me. I won't say I'm not hurt or even angry because that would be a lie however for the sake of a good working relationship I will forgive you".

"Thank you Miss Collins. Will it be possible to be friends?"

"Wh..at?" I stuttered. "Friends? Ummm ok Mr White". I agreed and watched his smile light up the office. Oh, that sexy dimple..and...stop it Jade, just friends now.

" Thank you Jade and you can start by calling me Lucas or Luke".

"Alright... Luke", I said and I liked it.

" Great. These are some documents. Type them and send them to the secretary of Mr. John Donovan".

"Alright". I stood up, took the files, smiled at him and went back to my office.
