"I made waffles!" I hear my father yell, effectively waking me up from my restless sleep. I groan, rolling off my bed, being careful not to jostle Shade. I know how much he loves his sleep.
Dragging my body to the shower was harder than I expected. My sleep deprived brain struggled to function properly. Striping and tumbling into the shower, I am shocked into awareness by accidental turning the water on cold. As effective as that was at waking me up, it was very uncomfortable. After finishing my bathroom business, I head over to my closet to unveil the 'chosen' outfit for today.
"Cute," I mumble aloud to myself while putting it on. The mid-thigh high grey suede boots look rather good over my skintight black jeans, while the grey belt, loose semi-transparent button-up and peach tank top provide a chic look. Finishing up with a pair of stud earrings and a ring, I switch my things into a black purse and make my way to the kitchen. Upon entering I see the kitchen table spread with waffles, warm syrup, sausage, and hash browns.
"Thank you dad." I say with a smile, while piling food onto my plate.
I sit down across from my mother and start shoving food down my throat, while moaning in pure delight.
"You look gorgeous sweetheart," My mother beams.
"All thanks to you mom." I reply, still trying to fill my mouth with delicious food.
Mundane conversation follows until I have to leave for school.

Walking out my building, I see the valet pulling my car out of the parking garage and drive my way. Stopping in front of me, a young man hops out and holds the door open for me.
“Thank you,” I say before slipping a generous tip into his hand. Once settled in the car, I take off, while reaching over to the passenger seat to grab my phone charger. Keeping eyes focus on the road ahead of me I Pat around the seat, searching for the familiar rubber cord, when my hand feels a stem. Coming to a stoplight, I look over to see a white rose with a folded paper lying underneath it. Looking up to check if the light is still red, I reach over and grab the note, opening it up over my steering wheel.
To help get you through the day.
- Your Knight
This is unexpected. How the hell did he get into my car, or the garage for that matter? It’s always locked to everyone without a passcode. He has been more observant then I have thought. A honk behind me startles me from my thoughts, looking up I see the light has now turned green. With my curiosity at it’s peak, I
floor it the rest of the way to school.

Sitting in 1st period Government, questions about Raidon continue to consume my every thought. How and why Raidon went through all this trouble to do something he could have easily done in person, he’s anything but shy, but by the middle of 2nd period I decided to just accept the kind jester with out question. I have enough to deal with today. I needed to focus all my energy on not causing bodily harm to the majority of the student body. Every child is trying to gain my attention, hoping to become my new “BFF.” Rumors are going around that there will be cell phones, and music players in the party bags. We may be wealthy, but who in the world gives cell phones as party bags accessories? It’s absurd! Sighing for what feels like the hundredth time this morning, I ignore pleads, compliments, and invites, counting the minutes until I can run to the safety and comfort of my car.
When the bell for lunch rings, I high tailed it out to the parking lot. Jumping into my car, I burn rubber all the way pass the school gates.
Screw this; I think to myself, I’m skipping.
