Chapter 9

"Hi Valerie, it's nice to see you again" Damien said still smirking

"Hi Damien."

"Look I'm sorry I didn't do anything to defend you, I wasn't thinking back then I'm sorry" he held my hand apologizing.

"Is everything alright?" Louis asked from behind, I stared at him he didn't look too happy to see Damien.

"Everything's fine do you mind?" Damien said rudely

"Actually I do." Louis then said

This didn't look so good

"Look pal I don't know who you are but I'd appreciate it if you left us alone" Damien threatened

I knew Louis was about to say something but I had to stop this before something bad could happen

I moved my hand away from Damien's and stood beside Louis locking our arms together "He's my friend someone that's nice enough to defend me unlike others so why don't you leave us alone Damien, I don't need another embarrassment."

"Valerie.." He said almost begging

Louis stood in front of me "She said to leave her alone...Pal."

Damien rolled his eyes, his jaw was clenched but he didn't do anything else he just left with his friends.

I sighed "I think I really need that drink now" I grabbed my forehead

"I don't like that guy" Louis said handing me my beer

"Why?" I asked him

"I just don't like that he didn't do anything to stop his ex girlfriend from well you know..what she did to you" he stated

It embarrasses me even more that Louis had seen the whole thing.

I think he saw that I was feeling embarrassed again because he smiled kindly to me.

"But hey because of that night I met you" he winked

We both had a grin on our faces

"Here's to meeting new people" he lifted his beer up and so did I, he drank from his beer I knew it was my turn I didn't want to look like a fool so I drank from mine really quick. It tasted kind of funny at first.

I suddenly felt the breeze pass by me and I got the chills "It's cold in here"

"You wanna borrow my jacket?" Louis asked already taking it off

I put my hand in front "No no it's fine I'll live" I giggled

He nodded side ways with a smirk "I don't want you to freeze to death, here" he helped me put on his jacket which fit quite nice on me.

"Thanks" I murmured

"Looks good on you" he said smiling

Throughout the night Louis and I talked, just the two of us, no one interrupted us until Jennifer came.

"Louis can you come with me for a while, I wanna introduce you to Stacey" she grinned

I could tell Louis didn't want to go, he hesitated to answer but he didn't want to be rude "Uh yeh sure" he faked a smile

He looked at me and said "I'll be back in a bit" I nodded

From the corner of my eyes I saw someone walk to me. "Hi" a blonde girl appeared in front of me, I recognized her I had met her at the beach along with Stacey.

"Hi" I smiled at her

"You remember me right?" She asked furrowing her brows

"Yeah I do" I nodded "I never got your name though.."
