***FLASHBACK***
Rowan's brothers gave her a small smile as Professor McGonagall called her name. She walked briskly up to the stool, her curly orange hair bouncing as she did. Rowan bit her lip nervously as the sorting hat was placed on her head.
Another Weasley, eh? Hopefully the last. Rowan laughed silently to herself. Her little sister Ginny Weasley was coming to Hogwarts next year. Rowan Weasley just so happened to be Ron Weasley's twin sister. It wouldn't be a surprise if you haven't heard of her, she's not your typical Weasley. You're not like your brothers and sisters, are you? Smarter-yes. Rowan jumped again as the hat started speaking to her. But where to put you? There was a pause and Rowan could literally feel the hat rummaging around her brain. It made her vision go fuzzy for a moment, but then it stopped.
"RAVENCLAW!" It took Rowan a second to realize that the hat had sorted her.
She was in a different house from the rest of her family. All eight of them. Another thing besides the curliness of her hair and her love for reading to set her apart from her siblings. All her brothers shouts being drowned out by the cheers from the Ravenclaw table, Rowan hung her head, momentarily glancing towards her protective twin brother Ron before sitting down at the Ravenclaw table. Rowan couldn't get the image of his sad and surprised face out of her head. Fred, George, and Percy (her other older brothers) looked pretty upset as well. Rowan had only one other thought in her brain:
What are Mum and Dad going to think?
***PRESENT TIME***
It was the week before Rowan, Ron, Harry, and Hermione would be going into their fifth year at Hogwarts and they were staying at Grimmauld Place. Rowan was still the only Ravenclaw of the family-Ginny had been sorted into Gryffindor a year after-and sometimes she felt left out. Fred and George had hopelessly tried to destroy any Ravenclaw merchendise that Rowan had, but she was too smart for that. She knew tricks to keep them from touching her things-small spells that wouldn't get her in trouble with the ministry. Once they had accidentally ruined all of Ron's Gryffindor posters instead. Ron and Rowan had to share a room in their tiny house, which was actually in the attic, but in Grimmauld Place Rowan shared a room with Ginny and Hermione.
Rowan ran down the stairs, seeing the Hogwarts owls coming towards the windows.
"Sorry, Harry!" She apologized as she ran into the sleepy boy on her way down the stairs.
"S'alright," Harry replied groggily, descending the stairs quite slowly. Rowan noticed Hermione was already there opening her letter and Rowan eagerly ripped open hers. As she expected, a shiny badge with the letter "P" was shining inside of the letter.
"Prefect?!" Fred and George burst out laughing, literally rolling around on the floor as Rowan proudly showed them her Prefect badge. She scowled at them and went to show her parents.
"Ah! Third in the family! We're so proud, dearie!" Mrs. Weasley exclaimed, kissing Rowan's cheeks.
"Yes, dear. Very proud," Mr. Weasley told her. "And of course of you, Hermione! Well done, well done!" Hermione and Rowan beamed at each other, then going to compare badges. Rowan liked Hermione, she was very responsible about school and loved to read as well. Rowan sometimes wished Hermione was in Ravenclaw with her, but at the same time was glad someone responsible was always there to watch Ron while she wasn't. Her twin brother could be reckless, and as Rowan liked to say "just bloody stupid" sometimes.
