"Let's see let's see." The nurse rubbed gel on my huge stomach.

She turned on the ultrasound machine, before tuning the lights off.

"Okay let's see what we workin' with here." She moved the transducer around on my stomach.

The sound of a heartbeat came from the machine making me a little happy.

"Okay there's your heart mommy--anndd let's see if we can find little bits heart." She moved the transducer, looking at the screen.

Watching the screen I hopeless waited for the heartbeat to be resounded.

"Um excuse me for-a um second." the nurse walked out.

Within seconds the nurse came back with a doctor. Looking at the screen for a minute, the doctor looked over at me smiling. Not returned the gesture, I just wanted to know what's going own.

"Hello Ms.Cater I'm Dr. Swine"

"Hey" I said very dryly

"On the scale of one to ten, one being the worst ten being best. How do you feel?"

"Ten" I quickly answered "What's wrong with my baby?" I got straight to the point.

"Well um- it seem um-"

"What?" I was quickly becoming impatient.

"It seem we can not find the baby's heartbeat." Hearing that made my heart stop.

"But you can do somethin'? Right?" I lump formed in my throat.

"I don't think so ma'-"

"What you mean you don't think so?" I got angry losing any patients that I did have.

"Ma'am calm down please." He try soothing me.

"Muthafucka I am c-aaahh." I grabbed my stomach.

"Ma'am?" The nurse looked worried

Screaming in agony I felt warm liquid between my legs. Looking down I saw blood, crying I still held on to my stomach.

"No please nooo." I cried out

"Briyah, beybeh, babe!!" I felt as if someone was shaking me. "Damn it Bri wake up!!"

Popping up I was grabbed my chest breathing hard. Crying August held me, wiping my sweaty forehead.

"I'm scared August."

"I know." He wiped my tears "Yah gotta believe and keep faith dat everythin' gon be gud. Let a nigga be da only one worryin'. Ight?" I nodded my head yes.
