Charlie Hammond was many things, sarcastic, energetic, kind, and late; she was most definitely late. Unfortunately for her that meant running from one side of Midtown High School to the other in order to reach her biology classroom.

The faded red converse she wore smacked against the linoleum floor and echoed across the ever clearing hallways. Her ponytail now flopped at the base of her neck and one headphone remained stuck in her ear while the other dangled helplessly from the wire as her chest heaved with each running step.

Charlie could only pray that her teacher had not taken attendance yet and she cursed under her breath at herself for losing track of time.

As she skidded around the final corner Charlie felt her body collide with something solid. Before she could even register that she was falling straight towards a bruised tailbone for sure, two hands grabbed onto the backs of her arms and hauled her upright.

"Are you okay?" The boys eyebrows furrowed in concern as he released her arms and bent down to pick up the notebook she had dropped.

Charlie stared breathless at the boy in front of her who was now holding her notebook out towards her. His dark hair was slicked back in a neat manner and his headphones peeked out from under his grey t-shirt. Finally breaking her stare away from the boy, Charlie looked down at her hand to make sure it wasn't shaking too bad from her almost fall and all the running she had done.

Softly taking the book from his hand she allowed her stormy grey eyes to meet his dark brown ones. "Seriously are you okay? You've been staring for like three minutes now and I'm starting to worry."

Clearing her throat and blinking a few times, Charlie managed to finally spit a few words out. "Yeah- yeah I'm fine. Sorry about that I'm just running late for my class and wasn't looking where I was going." She tucked a strand of loose hair behind her ear as the boy smiled softly.

Before she could thank him for quite literally saving her ass the tardy bell echoed off the empty hallway walls causing the two teens eyes to widen in minor panic. Giving the boy a small wave, Charlie raced off to her class feeling bad for not catching his name.

At the end of a very long day Charlie couldn't get away from the school fast enough. It seemed that every teacher had it out for her and she was already one tardy away from a detention, and Jenny already threatened her about getting in trouble in school. Of course, she already knew the consequences if she were to cause trouble and not just the ones that would come from Jenny.

Charlie navigated the sea of students the best she could before finally breaking free of the herd and heading towards the subway station. Queens was definitely different from Hells Kitchen and Charlie found herself missing her home despite all the horrors she had left behind there. Mostly she missed the people, Matt Murdock especially.
