Narrator's POV

"Ah!" Gasped a boy in the passenger seat. "Mom, they're wilting..." He groaned holding a couple of flowers his mother's friends had gathered for her.

"I told you to put them in water." She said.

"I'm sorry Mom..." He lowered his ears. This boy was no one else but Sonic. Sonic moved from a city he called Möbius to Santa Fe, California.

He was excited to go to Cali since he's heard so may things about it, but at the same time...he misses his old home. Now he's gonna have to go to a new school, start new friends...start a new everything.

He wasn't doing great at his old school. He had a few friends, but was made the Gym Rat's, as the jocks called themselves, personal punching bag. They usually punched him after school, behind the school building. A punch after another. None of the girls liked him, but he did have a crush on one. She never paid attention to him, ever...

He decided moving away with his mom was best.

A new beginning.

Forget punches.

Forget bullies.

Forget personal insults.

Forget everything.

Forget her...

He still kept in contact with his good friends. He had been on the road for two days...and was only a couple of minutes from his new home. His mom parked in front of a huge house... This was the rich part of the neighborhood.

Green grass, beautiful garden, water fountain in the front. Everything was beautiful.

"Is this really where we're living?" He asked his mom. She smiled widely with excitement and nodded. Sonic stepped out of the car.

"Come on, I have to show you the interior!" She took his hand and ran with him to the front door. The door was a two doored entrance. A wooden frame decorated with glass designs. His mom opened it up. He entered.

Beautiful, polished wooden floors. A large chandelier hanging from the tall ceiling, a huge staircase in the middle of the room that split into two deferent ways. A huge gourmet kitchen, and a beautiful dinning room. The living area was beautiful.

He opened another set of huge doors.

"What do you think?"

"M-My own personal library?" Sonic gulped, looking around. He was known at his other school for reading books all the time. This library was bigger than his entire house. He turned back to her and hugged her tightly.

"Do you like it?" She asked as they were still in the embrace.

"Are you joking? I love it!" He kissed her cheek. "Thank you Mom..."

She smiled at him and kissed his forehead, standing on her tiptoes. Sonic was taller than his mom.

"Wait, how are we able to afford this house?" He asked worriedly. She smiled.

"Honey, the only reason we were moving was because I got a promotion here. And now I'm paid five times more than I before." She smiled. "I have already paid your college so we won't worry about it when it's time." She smiled.

"Oh Mom..." He hugged her. "If you ever need any help, I'll always be here." He told her. "I promise."

"I love you honey..."

"I love you too, Mom..."

The next morning, Sonic woke up early to get ready for school. New school, new beginning. He kissed his mom goodbye and left. He ran to school, but stopped when he saw the school sign.
