"Ugh, I'm thirsty," Carly whined while walking through the desert to the "prison".
David handed her a water bottle. Carly took one sip and gave it back.
"Thanks."
"You're welcome. We're almost there."
Carly sped up and soon saw the dreaded building.
"We have to be quiet," David whispered, squeezing Carly's hand.
They sneaked inside, hiding in the shades.
Carly walked to the first cell with a young boy. His elbow was bloody, his clothes in worse condition than anyone else's.
"Hey," She said. "What's your name?"
"Terry," The boy said quietly.
David unlocked the cell.
"You can go out."
The boy took a step closer, unsure if he could trust the strangers.
Footsteps were heard through the dark hallway.
"Quick! They're coming!" Carly dashed inside and grabbed Terry's hand.
The person was getting closer.
"You can defend yourself in case you're alone, can't you?" Carly asked.
"How?"
"With your powers. Attract a cloud and suffocate them, or hit them with lightning."
"I- I can't."
The three were already far from the building. They were getting closer to the abandoned town.
"Aren't you able to use your powers?"
:
Terry shook his head sadly."That's probably your head damage," David explained.
"Oh. Will you tell me?"
