BENEDICT’S POV
“That’s a wrap! Brilliant job today folks see you all tomorrow!”
I had just finished a day of filming “Sherlock” at a local park. It was tremendous! The script was so well thought out it amazed me. We had a lot of the park boarded off but that didn’t stop the fans. There were hundreds of people jumping and screaming, trying to get a better view.
I was very tired so decided to go to my trailer. I had to wait another two hours before I could leave the park anyways. When I arrived to my trailer I saw one of the security guards, Benson, talking to a fan who was trying to sneak in. I smiled. Any person who made it that far without being caught deserved an autograph. I walked over the Benson and the fan and realised it was the girl. June.
I walked up behind Benson just as he was telling June to leave. He didn’t notice me but she did. “Thank you Benson, but this young lady is a friend of mine.”
Benson turned around and looked shocked to see me. “Oh hello Mr. Cumberbatch. You know this girl?” I looked at June and saw she had a huge grin on her face. I winked and then said, “Of course! This is June! You weren’t about to throw her out were you?” Benson looked startled “I am very sorry. I didn’t realize. I’ll be leaving now.” June and I watched as Benson scurried off to another group of fans.
“Thanks. I didn’t even know what was in here I was just looking for my flatmate.”
“Good luck finding her in this crowd. I guess you will just have to settle for me.” I smiled at June as I said this. I couldn’t believe I was seeing her again. After I left the café that night I just assumed I would never see her again, but here she was. By complete accident.
“I couldn’t. I’m sure your busy. Filming, and fans, and ya…”
“I’m done filming for the day. I would love if you would come and keep me company until I can leave the park.”
She smiled but looked very hesitant. She started to stare down at her phone, as if looking at the time. “Sure.”
I grabbed June’s hand and helped her over the board. As soon as I touched her, her face turned pink. I didn’t want to embarrass her so once over the board, I let her hand go. “Would you like to see my trailer?”
June just nodded. I started to walk towards my trailer and she trailed behind me. I could tell she was very nervous and I felt bad. Maybe I should have just signed something then left. She probably thought I was a creep or something. We reached my trailer and I opened the door. “Ladies first” She turned pink again and walked in.
My trailer was small, since I didn’t even want one. It had a mini fridge in it, three chairs, and a small table. There was also a bathroom on the far side. June looked around and sat on one of the chairs. “Do you use this trailer everywhere you film?”
“No, I honestly hate using it. Usually I don’t have any trailer at all but it’s cold so I thought it would be nicer to run lines in a heated area.”
June suddenly looked straight into my eyes. “You remembered my name.” She didn’t say it as a question or in a surprised way, she was just simply stating fact.
“Yes, I suppose I did.”
She laughed. “Do you have a bottle of water or something I can have?” I nodded and walked over to the mini fridge. I tossed her the chilled bottle.
“No charge.”
I sat in the chair beside her and we just sat for a while. It wasn’t awkward, it was nice. “So June, tell me about yourself.”
“Well I’m 28 years old, I was born right here in England, I live with my flatmate Kriss, who is 25, I work at “The Mini Café and I also sell painting that I do. I enjoy tea, monkeys, and watching television. And that’s pretty much it.”
“You paint?”
“Yeah. It’s just a hobby but I have sold a few. Anyways what about you?”
“I’m an actor.”
She laughed. “Obviously. What else?”
I paused for a moment and thought. “I as well enjoy tea and monkeys, I live in a flat on my own, I will watch television as long as I’m not in the show, and my pillow case is purple.”
“You are honestly not what I expected from a celebrity.”
“What did you expect?”
“To be waved off and never thought of again.”
“I’m afraid I will never be able to just wave you off June.”
She smiled after I said this. I love her smile. She gets tiny dimples, it’s just adorable. She was adorable. Today her hair was pulled back into a pony tail, and she wore large black glasses. She had her company shirt on again, but this time had on a pair of yoga pants and runners.
June looked down and her phone and typed something. “I really should be going. My friend just texted me saying she is at my car.”
“Would you like me to walk you?”
“No, it’s fine. It sounds like there are still a lot of fans out there so I don’t think it’s a good idea.”
“Another time then?”
“Hmm?” She looked totally baffled.
“Would you like to have another visit sometime?”
“Oh… Wow. Ok sure. That would be lovely.”
“And how do I contact you to make these arrangements?”
June scrambled through her purse and pulled out a piece of paper and a blue sharpie. She scribbled on it. “Here is my flat address. Stop by sometime, if you like. Or not. That’s ok too.”
I took the paper from her hand and smirked. “Thank you.”
June waved and walked out of my trailer. After she walked out I couldn’t help but smile. I had just gotten her address. Not a phone number, an address! I jumped. I sat in one of the chairs and just stared at the piece of paper. I truly thought I was dreaming.
