A/N: The picture is of my sister and myself on one of our favorite horses: Becky. She was getting ready for a Fourth of July rodeo and couldn't do her own ponytail so I stepped up. LOL This is one of my mom's favorite pictures of us. :)

Hey troublemaker, how's camp?

It's Mom. I just read your dad's email and before you can badger me with questions you should know: I cared a lot about James. I was very sad to lose him. I love John very much. I DON'T want to talk about it. Not over email anyway, you can ask me questions when you get back home.

Moving on...

Can we please take a moment to talk about how absolutely mushy your father is???? It's cute-annoying I guess. Ugh! I really did kind of hate George Strait and I know he thinks it's blasphemy but I still do....it's SOOOO SLOWWWW!

The truth is that while you father apparently stood on his head to serenade me, I played solitaire on the old desktop in my room

The truth is that while you father apparently stood on his head to serenade me, I played solitaire on the old desktop in my room. (I was a beast, by the way. I played casino style and was usually only down by a couple hundred dollars. LOL I blame his distractions...)

I guess some of his 'romance' was working though because I did continue to call.

I was also looking forward to going back to school and seeing him. I'd spent the summer talking my mom into allowing me to 'revamp' my style. Basically I bought cooler clothes....('cooler' was code for 'sexier': tighter jeans, name brand sweaters, low cut shirts, and push up bras)...Everything was within the limits your grandma set for me, but by comparison to my middle school self, the change was pretty drastic.

I was especially excited for when my boobs finished coming in and the push up bras had more to work with.

(Yeah, still waiting on that pipe dream

(Yeah, still waiting on that pipe dream. Not sure how my double d cup mother could have given birth to me and my A cups...)

Anyway, when we did go back to school I was interested in your father and still talked to him regularly,  but we found ourselves unexpectedly facing new obstacles.
