Surprise Shapeshifting

What would have been a normal morning was flipped upside down when I woke up. My alarm had just gone off I figured I had a few minutes to get my lazy butt up before it went off again. When I stretched I was suddenly shocked awake to an odd feeling, something was wrong. I looked down and saw paws 'Paws?!? What is going on? Am I dreaming?' I tried to move off my bed but fell when I moved in a way of whatever animal I was did not. I'm pretty sure it was a dog and definitely not a little one. 'Okay so this is the weirdest morning ever and I can't even turn on the light. I wonder if I turned into a dog is a good enough excuse to stay home from school.' Everything seemed so different from the eyes of a dog the colors were different but as I looked around all the missing colors slowly appeared making it almost seem normal if not for the angle I was viewing things at that was throwing me off. Even though I could see better in the dark than I ever could I still had to turn on the light I wanted to see what kind of dog I was. Balancing myself by placing my front paws on the wall I flicked the light switch up with my nose. 'Ha! This is easier than I thought.' My triumph faded when my paws slipped and I fell. 'Okay just got to get used to this and then it will be easy. Just focus on the little problems and not the big question of how the heck this happened.' I got up and walked over to the mirror to find a German Shepherd staring back at me. It's- no my coat was mostly black with brown markings on my face making my blue eyes stand out. My legs were almost completely light brown and there was a small white heart shaped mark almost on my stomach. 'No way I'm a German Shepherd!' I had always wanted one but now I was one. 'So if I turned into a German Shepherd I wonder if anyone turned into something else.' I figured if I was going to go searching for others then it would be best if I got out of the house before my aunt woke up and saw dog me so I walked downstairs and spent a few minutes trying to open the door before I finally got it open. Of course when it opened it hit someone. That someone being a strange yet oddly pretty mix between what appeared to be an African wild dog and a maned wolf. It had large rounded ears, long legs making it taller than me, and patchwork pattern of wavy fur with orange, red, black, white, and browns making up all the colors. 'Ace?' It wasn't my voice but rather my best friend Jasmine's voice i was hearing in my head as if it was my own thoughts. 'How did you do that? Wait am I doing that and you turned into an animal too!'
'Yes you are doing it too and it is pretty obvious that I turned into an animal and I don't know I just kinda did it when you hit me with the door but I thought it was human you that did that?' she answered 'Alright we turned into animals and can talk with our minds. This is the weirdest morning ever.' I tell Jasmine through the mind speaking thing that I really should come up with a name for. While I was thinking about a name Jasmine suggested 'If the two of us randomly turned into animals I bet others have too. Shall we look?' I gave her a wolfish grin and replied 'We shall. Maybe if we can find others someone will have figured out how to turn back into human.' We walked off through the neighborhood looking for others. I'm sure it looked pretty weird to anyonewho was actually awake at 6:30 in the morning but it was starting to seem normal to me that was until a red panda fell on my head. It squeaked in surprise making me think that it hadn't meant to fall from it's tree. 'Okay that's rude falling on friend like that.' Jasmine said in the mind link thing 'True but I didn't mean too.' a new voice responded 'Well aren't you quick to pick things up.' Jasmine replied seeming surprised by her fast response and lack of questions. 'You calling me slow, Jazz?' Jasmine gave me a look, despite that fact that she was now the hybrid creature she turned into she managed to be able to look completely done with me. 'Okay seeing as you don't have any questions you can answer mine. Who are you? Do know what is going on?' Jasmine asked to avoid answering me 'Not really I just woke up as a red panda and when I went outside a little fox spoke to me with mind talking. She went to find more people that turned into animals and left me here. Oh and I'm Bailey.'
'So who is the fox?'
Asked Jasmine 'She said her name was Miko.'
'Miko is the fox!' I basically mind screamed, Miko was the third person of the trio that was me, Jasmine, and of course Miko. I didn't know Bailey but something about us was the same or else we all wouldn't be animals. 'So shall we find Miko?' I asked them after I had calmed down. 'Let's go!' Jasmine yelled. 'I dunno what if Miko comes back while we are looking for her?'  Bailey said
'Hmm well the town is small so she shouldn't have gotten far and we don't know what kind of animals others could be so it could be something like a horse so it should be really easy to find them so we should go.' I tell her. Bailey nods her head and we run off to go look. It didn't take long for me to realize how slow red pandas run, I turned around and walked back to her before lying down and letting her climb onto my back. 'This is gunna be a long day.' I thought as I got up and ran after Jasmine.
