It's a Zoo Reunion

What happened when we found Miko and the pack of animal/people that she found could only be described as an animal meeting in the forest. We had ran all over town before we decided to check out the woods. There we had found Miko with a polar bear, a cross between a snow leopard and a clouded leopard, and a cross between a zebra and a reindeer. As odd as the slightly white reindeer with black stripes was the clouded snow leopard drew all of my attention, it was the size of a snow leopard and had the pure white snowy fur of one but instead of snow leopard spots it had the spots of a clouded leopard. They were the only fur that wasn't white and there were a lot of them. Add her striking dark green eyes and you have what I was looking at. When I looked around it finally occurred to me that I was the only animal that wasn't what you could call exotic 'So why am a dog while the others are wild animals?' I wondered briefly listening to the mind conversion, on the mind link as I had decided to call it, that the group was having. It seemed everyone was introducing themselves while I zoned out. I had already missed Jasmine, Miko, and Bailey saying their names and the type of animal they were as if we couldn't see that but I had zoned in right on time to hear the polar bear say his name is Tucker. 'I'm Alex and as I've been told I currently look like a cross between a reindeer and a zebra.' the zebra deer said 'I'm Zoey and I've turned into a clouded snow leopard as I like to call it otherwise know as a mix between a snow leopard and a clouded leopard.' Then it was my turn 'I'm Ace the German Shepherd.' 'Why are you the only domesticated animal?' Zoey asked 'Been wondering the same thing Zoey.' I tell her. Before anyone can say anything else I heard a twig snap, turning around I found a very scared looking person staring at the group in horror 'Well this isn't something you see everyday.' I say as I stare back 'For who the guy who is staring at a group of animals that don't belong here or the teenagers who are being stared at in horror while being the animals.' Zoey asked not at all concerned about what the guy might do. I would have responded if not for the bright flash of a picture being taken and the sudden urge to stop him caused by the knowledge that the picture can't get out. I know it would cause major trouble and something about that knowledge had me turning human to stop him. It was painful, bones shifting reshaping, but at least it wasn't slow. I could only hope that next time it would be easier 'Next time? What am I thinking I can't keep turning into an animal and back.' Suddenly I was on two legs and in my pj, black shorts and a white t shirt. The guy ran but I could tell he had started filming after taking the picture and hadn't stopped even as he ran. I almost started to turn back to chase him but stopped myself. It was as if my body knew i could run faster if it was a German Shepherd but I wanted to be human. The struggle to not shift had let the guy get away and even if I had shifted I was sure I wouldn't have been able to run as the pain was gone but I felt as if I had eaten a ton of sugar and just crashed, I was exhausted, starving, dehydrated and sore. I turned and looked at the group to find that Miko and Zoey had shifted with me and looked like they regretted it. 'How did you guys do that?' Bailey asked amazed "I don't know I just knew that I had to do something to stop him and I knew that my human form would be better." I told her "Same" Miko and Zoey said at the same time. "I still don't get how to control it though." Miko admitted "I don't think anyone does but we need to focus on the other problem here that guy got a video of us shifting and a picture but the its video that worries me." I tell them "Relax Ace there is nothing we can do about it now I'm sure most people will write it off as a hoax if he does post it but did you see how scared he was that was kinda funny, wasn't it?" Zoey said and I knew trying to distract me but I couldn't help but think something bad is going to happen "Yeah it kinda was." I tell her not voicing my worries "But we should leave here that guy might come back with other people. My aunt should have left by now we can go to my house and try to figure how to control the whole shapeshifting." Of course when I realized that everyone was going to be faster than me in animal form I started shifting before I could even make up my mind if I even wanted to or not. 'Great just great seems that these "instincts" are going to control me.' I thought as I took off at top speed, well as fast as i could run right now, towards home leading what I could only be described as a pack. I had to stop when I looked back and saw Miko and Bailey struggling to keep up. Even though Miko was faster than Bailey she couldn't keep up with us so I walked to them and let Bailey climb back onto me and grabbed Miko's scruff before running once again. 'I am never going to hear the end of this.' I thought to myself as I heard Miko growling to herself.
