Marinette's Daytime Nap

"Okay class, everyone take their seats!" The teacher exclaims before turning back to her desk work. Everyone obeys and sits, before turning to talk to their friends. At least, most of them.

Marinette groans when Alya pokes her cheek. She swats her hand away in annoyance and goes right back to sleep. Alya giggles in reply.

"Girl, as much as I love you, I regret to inform you that we're in school. You know, the place where you get your education? The place where you need to be awake?"

"Learn later, sleep now," Marinette mumbled.

Alya sighed in defeat. Nino turned back toward Alya. He looked at Marinette, confusion written all over his face.

"What's up with her? I mean, I know she likes to sleep, that's the reason why she's always late, but..."

Alya shrugged.

"I'm just as clueless as you on this one, Nino."

Suddenly, a light bulb flashes over Alya's head. She grinned evilly. If anything could wake up Mari, it would be this.

"Uh, Alya? You're kinda freaking me out here."

"Why's that?"

"Cause you look like you just put a wild raccoon in Chloe's locker and stuck a sign that says "I hope you got your rabies shot" on the door."

"Great idea, but I think we both know that the one who needs the shot isn't the one with the blonde hair. I just thought of an idea of how to wake up Mari," Alya says as Adrien walks through the door. The teacher then excuses herself to go the bathroom, telling everyone to take out their homework to be checked before leaving.

"And here it is now."

"Hi guys!"Adrien exclaimed as he sat down. Alya and Nino happily acknowledged his presence, unlike a certain someone. Alya elbowed Mari, only to get a groan out of her. Adrien raised an eyebrow in amusement.

'Project Sleepy-Head is a go!' Alya thought as she watched Adrien's reaction.

She put her elbow on the desk, leaned her face against her knuckles, and sighed dramatically. Adrien's attention now turned towards her.

"She been like this since we got here. I'm starting to get a little worried about her."

This got Adrien's attention rather quickly. He turned towards Marinette's sleeping form once more. She looked rather pale today, then again she was always pale, but this time it wasn't her ordinary pale. It was a ghostly pale. One that she didn't wear well. He looked back at Alya.

"What's the matter with her?" He asked.

"She said that she's been staying up late working on some new designs. Guess it really took a toll on her."

"Yeah, no kidding," Adrien murmured as he watched Marinette. Her breathing was steady, so that was good. The bags under her eyes, well those didn't sit well with him.

"Anyway," Alya said." Nino and I have already tried waking her up like twenty times already, but she won't budge. Think you can try?"

Adrien and Nino looked at her confused.

"Wait, I didn't try to wake her up, and you only did it tw-OWW!" Nino said before getting sucker-punched to the back of head by Alya.

"Twenty! He meant twenty!"Alya exclaimed, trying to put things back on track.

Adrien gaped at them, before deciding he was better off not knowing.

"Anyway, why would I when you guys tried twenty times and got nowhere. It wouldn't make any sense."

Alya grinded her teeth in annoyance before taking a breath and smiling at him.

'You better be grateful for what I'm doing for you, you lazy bum!' Alya thought before answering Adrien.

"Well, since we tried so many times, Mari's bound to get fed up with us, so she'll mostly likely give in sooner or later."

Adrien considered it, before determining that she was right. Everyone had a limit. He would know, having such a strict and pressuring man as his father.

"Yeah, you're right," he replied before getting out of his seat and standing next to Marinette's desk. Hesitantly, he grasped Marinette's shoulder and shook it lightly. He called out her name a couple times until she finally lifted her head and opened her eyes.

Her eyes were glazed over and her hair was a total mess, but other than that she looked fine. That didn't matter to Adrien though. He was just glad she was awake. He bent down to her level and smiled at her.

"Hey, glad you could join us," He said teasingly. Marinette smiled slightly before dropping her head back onto the desk and shutting her eyes once more. Adrien's face dropped instantly and Alya slammed her head against the desk. Nino just looked at her like 'What the hell is wrong with you?'

"Adrien! What are you doing out of your seat?"

Arien spun around, finding a unhappy teacher in front of him. Everyone instantly looked at him.

"Uh...you see...Mari was asleep...I was trying to wake her up, but then she fell right back to sleep, so.....," He stuttered. The teacher raised an eyebrow.

"Couldn't you have done so from your desk?" She asked,

"Well, yes, but-"

"How dare you!"Chloe exclaimed."You do realize that you are accusing Adrien Agreste, correct? My daddy is the mayor, so I would think twice before messing with my Adri-kins!"

Adrien as well as everyone else rolled their eyes at the nickname(Excluding Sabrina and Marinette).

"What I mean is, Marinette has been working late every night and I was worried that she may be sick of something. I just wanted to know if she was okay. Can I at least take her to the Nurse's office?" He asked.

The teacher nodded in instant approval before excusing them. Adrien thanked her before turning to Marinette. He had forgotten that she had fallen back to sleep. Now, how was he going to do this? He bent down to lift her, but he was stopped by something grabbing his arm.

"Come on, Adrien! You have better things to do than take care of that loser!" Chloe exclaimed.

Adrien's eyes narrowed.

"Excuse me?"

"I said you have better things to do than waste your time over her when you could be spending it with me!"

Adrien yanked his arm out of Chloe's grip.

"How could you say that? She could be sick, Chloe! You need to learn that it is not something to take lightly."

Chloe rolled her eyes and scoffed. Adrien grinded his teeth.

"And until you do, don't talk to me," Adrien told her as he picked up Marinette in his arms. She instantly curled up and placed her head against his chest.

Chloe gaped at him as he walked down the steps and out of the classroom. She screamed in anger before getting up to leave the classroom.

"Where do you think you're going?" The teacher exclaimed. Chloe growled, shoved her hand in her purse, and took out a slip. She slammed it on the teacher's desk.

"It excuses me from school for the rest of the day,"Chloe said bitterly before stomping out the door. When she left, Alya and Nino started laughing and fistbumped.
