(( DOUBLE POST WOOOO! I felt Snape wasn't much in the last chapter because it was mainly Elvira's backstory, but you'll see filler chapters like that are important in the end. Have some more Snape, my loves))
Elvira walked down towards Hagrid's hut rather anxiously. She didn't know how this talk was going to go. She didn't want anything to happen, especially with such a temperamental beast such as the hippogriff around.
Elvira and Evan had been in a few arguments before, but they were over small childish things when they were teenagers. They'd been in a few physical fights too, and they respected each other for that. Elvira respected that some issues of theirs had to solved this way, and she respected that Evan had no qualms about fighting her merely because of her gender.
Elvira approached the hut, and knocked on the door. Nobody answered. She sighed and sat on the steps. She looked around and waited for Evan and Hagrid to return.
She knew they would be in the forbidden forest somewhere, but she didn't fancy venturing in there alone. It wasn't that she was scared, she was just intelligent enough not to risk her life when she knew they would return soon enough.
Ironically, it was hours before they had returned. Evan and Hagrid were a little merry too, as they had decided to go to Hogsmeade for a few drinks.
"Ah, Professor Halfmoon!" Hagrid exclaimed, causing the half-asleep aura to fall slightly off of the steps. He laughed and offered his large hand to help her up. She smiled at him and took it, before looking over at Evan, who has sat on the floor, talking to a pumpkin. "Evan, what are ya doin'?"
"Have you ever had a pumpkin p-p-pie?" Evan stuttered, before standing up and following Hagrid into the hut. Elvira followed shortly after them.
"How much did you guys have to drink?" Elvira sighed, closing the door behind them and helping Hagrid settle Fang. Hagrid hiccuped and sat down, and Evan sat next to him. Evan whipped out his wand and beckoned two mugs over and started filling them with beer. Elvira sighed.
"We 'ad about," Hagrid hiccuped and stopped to think "Six pints of beer, and two pints of cider."
"You guys get smashed easily." Elvira sighed, before looking at Evan, who looked as though he was about to be sick. "Do you need a bucket or something?"
"Piss off." He growled, before taking a large gulp of his beer. Hagrid spat out his beer and coughed, and Evan patted him hard on the back.
"There's no need for tha' kind of language, Evan." Hagrid said, recovering from his coughing fit. "I thought Elvira was your friend?"
Evan just shrugged and Elvira looked at the floor sadly.
"Haven't you got patrol duty?" Elvira asked, and Evan shrugged once again. She sighed, and looked out of the window into the dark, but rainy night sky. "I'll take it then. We can't have you adventuring the corridors in your state."
Elvira sighed and waved goodbye to Hagrid. She didn't really know him that well, but she knew he was very friendly and the most of the students seemed to like him. Hagrid waved back, and Elvira smiled, walking out of the hut into the cold rain.
She quickly walked towards the castle, shivering, for she hadn't brought a coat with her. She hadn't been expecting to stay out so long, after all.
She started walking into the covered bridge, when she felt the presence of the DADA professor, coming from the direction of an old tree. She waited under the bridge for him, and he noticed this. He quickened his pace, and smiled politely at her.
"Renny, what are you doing out here in this weather?"
"I could ask you the same question, love." Elvira chuckled, before looking at his hand which he was holding. "You've hurt your hand?"
