Your vision was blurred from tears, but that was definitely her. You could tell by her cold blue eyes and silky blonde hair. "What do you want?" You asked, sucking in a stinging breath and coldly looking over at her. "Listen, I'm really sorry about the way I treated you tonight. Alexander just broke up with me, and I know I deserved it for being such a jerk to you. I just really needed to apologize." Your world just flipped upside down. You were happy, confused, angry and heartbroken all at the same time. Was Vanessa White actually being nice to you? "It's okay," you answered, trying to keep your voice from cracking. "I've been a real jerk to you too." "We cool?" She asked, extending her hand to you. "Yeah," you answered with a smile and shook her outstretched hand. You might've lost a friend that night, but you also gained one.
Vanessa walked you back to your house. The two of your talked the whole way there. "I guess I was just jealous of you and Alexander's relationship." She confessed. "If he was bored, he would ask you to come over. If he had a problem, he would call you. If he had news, good or bad, you were the first person he would tell. He was never that way with me. Even from the beginning I knew that I would never be able to come close to you in Alexander's eyes." You couldn't help but chuckle at the fact that she always called him "Alexander." It sounded too formal for your goofy best friend. You squeezed your eyes shut. "Jealous of MY relationship with him? I was jealous of YOURS." You also confessed. "I always felt like a third-wheel around the two of you." Vanessa stopped and looked at you. "I hope you know that Alexander really loves you. Even when we were dating, he would never shut up about you." She said with a smile. You blushed and smiled, but then you remembered what had happened earlier. Your smile faded. "Well, he probably never wants to talk to me again." You said as a tear slid down your cheek. You explained everything that had happened to Vanessa. "Wow. You kissed my ex-boyfriend while we were still dating?" She joked. "Sorry," you said shyly. You were surprised that she was taking the break up so well. "You need to talk to him," Vanessa said simply. You knew she was right, but how could you after what had happened?
