As I walked into a warm drowsy classroom, no the room was a huge gym, and it was sweaty as hell. It was full of weaponry and, thank god, muscular guys..... some were shirtless, and glistening with perspiration. One in particular caught my attention, this one freshman was exceedingly attractive. I considered walking over to him but figured there's no way he'd wanna talk to a girl like me.

"Freshman. Midget people." A voice called above all the others, like the booming voice of a god except sweeter.

It was an older student who apparently deemed himself mature enough to introduce all of us to the new college life. He was a very tall guy, like, holy crap, talk about towering over everyone! His size made him slightly intimidating, but he had a nice smile that made me blush, plus he was hotter than all the freshman males combined, or any males in the school really. Spiked up caramel brown hair, intense sea green eyes, and olive colored skin. Though the shirt he was wearing wasn't the school uniform, like he was supposed to be wearing. It was a white t-shirt that clung to him, making it obvious that he had a chiseled six pack. I need to get to him at one point, I thought, laughing to myself.

Ever since I had left my abusive father a month ago I had been sleeping around, not a healthy decision, I'll admit, but it was rather fun. New school meant a totally new life for me. And totally new guys.

I watched Sabriel introduce the newbies to our school. Damn, he had a way with words to make this sound like the best thing anyone could do. I was offered the job to welcome them with a speech, but who would listen to a pale, red-eyed guy like me? I'm smart, but words never really favored me. I looked over the freshman, some of these new girls were pretty cute. Listening from the back I could hear all the mini conversations going on.

"I'm so excited....."

"This place is just a pile of shit I bet..."

"Who's that guy? I wouldn't mind crawling into his bed..."

Little girls, wait, that last one was a guy. What the? I looked around, attempting to figure out who had said that. I searched but couldn't find him. Oh well, figure that out later. I started moving towards Sabriel again from where I'd been standing in the shadows, my favorite part of this world.

The boring speech given by my best friend was finally over. God, he could talk forever. As the freshies started leaving I walked against the current, trying to get to him. At least they knew how to move. Spotting this one super cute chick on the opposite side of the courtyard I decided to play a little prank. I'm supposed to stay mature, but there's no fun in that, now is there?

A dark figure shaped like a hand moved across the ground, reaching for the girl. I grabbed her shadow. She instantly stopped walking. Her eyes were full of fear. I smirked. What did I want to make her do? Something dirty? Slightly revealing?

"Vladimir, what are you doing?" Sabriel had found me before I had gotten to him. The majority of the freshman had already left. There were a few stragglers, and the girl I had snatched. She was looking around and we made eye contact. I sighed and let her go. She quickly walked away her short brown hair bouncing slightly. I should have made her come with me.

Sabriel

Talking to the new kids went quite a bit better then I had thought it would. They actually listened mostly. Only a few noticeable side conversations.

"That's the end of your welcoming ceremony. There are marked path that are there to show you your way to the dorms, and when you reach the building an escort will be there to help you."

The freshman dispersed to find their dorms. I walked down to follow the freshman to get to my friend who had finally left the shadows. He was smirking at something. He was an odd person.

"Vladimir, what are you doing?" I called out to him. He looked at me, I noticed a girl who had been previously standing still ran off to follow the rest of the group.

He turned to me and smirked the mischief in his eyes made me certain that he'd been up to no good. "What's with you, messing with that freshmen?" I asked.

"Come on, you know you wanted to see that cute little girl do a bit of dancing, if you know what I mean" he was smirking with a gleam of humor in his eyes.

I grinned "Come on Vlad, be a little mature" I said, laughing, I couldn't help myself, although I was trying so hard to be serious.

"But where's the fun in that?" he asked earnestly, as he disappeared into the shadows of the room once more, leaving me alone.

I stood there for a moment and tried to think of what Vladimir was planning for the girl but shrugged off my mild concern and jogged to my dorm., "I was just having a bit of fun. Is that a bad thing?", hearing Vladimir, although the source was still invisible.

I gave the space of where the voice came from a look that I seemed to give him a lot. It was kinda an annoyed look but still interested at the same time.

He put his hands up as he came out of the shadows and shrugged, "alright you win."
