Vladimir
Sabriel and I took off running down the slope. Gemma stayed back aways to cover us with her arrows. I drew my daggers as we took off. This was going to be very fun.
Reaching the herd, it looked a lot bigger from the hill. The entire amount of creatures was fifty. That meant each of us got around seventeen a piece. Easy, the only one I wasn't one hundred percent sure could do that was Gemma, but that's what Sabriel and I were supposed to do, kill the brunt of the creatures.
Upon meeting my first opponent, it lashed out at me with one of its tentacles. I ducked, sliding under the tentacle, and under the beast. Swiftly, I lodged my dagger in its belly, than pulled out. The creature fell, and I moved onto the next victim.
Slice, off with one tentacle. Slash, off with another. Down swipe, off with the head. I was on somewhere around my thirteenth kill. Gemma's arrows had saved my life twice. She mustn't hate me too much if she was willing to keep me alive.
Sabriel was punching away, his bladed gauntlets were covered in the purple blood of the animals. He had a slight smirk pulling at his lips as he faced foe after foe. I suppose I should continue.
Smiling as I charged, two of them came at me at once. One was swinging a tentacle down from above, the other doing a side swipe. I rolled my eyes and smiled. Simple, dumb creatures they were. Slice, splat. Slash, thunk. Both had lost the ends of a tentacle. They made a terrible, screech-like noise. I actually laughed, then, using one as a launching pad, pelted myself at the second's head. Stabbed my twin daggers into it's skull. The Octopus started to fall, and I jumped over to the second, raking my blades down its spine. It screeched again. I lept off, and ran, knowing they were both dead.
Sabriel
I had seen it. Vlad enjoyed this murder-feste too much. He had smiled as an Octopus fell in front of him, murdered. I have to admit though, this was pretty entertaining. I had taken out my third. So had Vlad. Couldn't really expect Gemma to take out that many though, as a backup instead of a front line fighter. I made eye contact with Vlad. There were about twenty left. He nodded and I grinned at him. We dashed forward in sync. Meeting the Octopus that was standing closest to me, I slashed its tentacle, jumped up, and landed my blade into its spine. Direct impact, and it would soon be dead.
Leaping onto my next target, I noticed Vlad had dropped two, and another had fallen in the middle of the pack, covered in arrows. Nice shooting, Gemma.
We finished off the rest of them quickly, and easily. It almost felt as if it had been, too easy.
"Gemma, come down here," I called to my girl, who jumped from her post, coming down to join me.
Vlad walked over to me, a small look of confusion on his face, "That was?"
"Too easy?" I completed the sentence.
"Where's the alpha?"
Alpha, damn. Strongest, and biggest of them. We hadn't even seen it yet, "Should we go look for it, or wait for the thing to come to us?" I asked him.
"Wait here, we do need to rejuvenate a bit," he responded.
Gemma came up, "Hey, are we good to go to town?"
"No, you...." Vlad ended his sentence there. He knew he would have to fight both of us at the same time if he made a rude comment to her.
"Thanks for being so--" Gemma was about to snap at him, but Vlad cut her off.
"Shh."
"What? You think you can--" he placed a hand on her mouth, and at the back of her head.
