Cloud completely turned around and accelerated faster than he's ever gone before. He imagined Chase swinging Zack's sword around with that stupid grin of his. Why was he even there? What does Zack have to do with Chase anyway?

Once he had left the freeway, Cloud sharply turned right so he was going down the road that headed towards Midgar. The smell of rubber filled his nose and his bike started to buckle. The tyres must have been worn after all the sudden stops and his reckless driving for the past couple of weeks. But it didn't stop him or even slow him down.

Cloud swerved onto the dirt ground and sped his way up the hill where Zack's memorial was set up. He didn't stop the bike properly but he jumped off and left Fenrir rolling down the hill. Once he reached the top he saw Chase spinning his two red swords that he once showed Cloud. He smugly leaned on Zack's sword and smiled when Cloud saw him.

"You've got a lot of explaining to do," Cloud threatened, but Chase shook his head.

"Cloud, always straight to violence with you," he mutters. "I'll explain everything to you if you promise not to pull out those swords,"

Cloud moved from his defensive stance but kept on glaring at him. "Talk."

Chase sighed at his distrust but ignored him. "I left your kids in the middle of the forest because I thought it was unfair for them to be alive and my father be dead. My mind was out of it,"

Chase looked up, expecting to see Cloud aggressive expression, but was surprised when he hadn't changed at all. "Yeah well, I already suspected that much," he grumbled.

"My father was an important man," Chase continued.

Eva's face floated in Cloud's mind. "So what?! All parents are important to their children. And vise versa,"

"You're right, Cloud. It's too bad your parents died when you were such a tender age."

Cloud froze. He doesn't remember saying a word about his past to anyone. "How do you know that?" He whispered.

"I'm sorry, what?" Chase mocked, receiving another glare. "I heard it was a terrible fire,"

"How do you know that?" Cloud repeated a little louder.

"And the cause was some horrible monster crashing through the ceiling?"

That was news to Cloud, but he didn't act surprised. "How the hell do you know that?!"

Chase laughed wickedly. "Are you that clueless? No way for the past month you haven't put two and two together." He shook his head sadly. "But maybe all that aura in your system affected you memory,"

Aura? Cloud remembered the glowing spheres that he took once in a while to replenish his energy and not fall back into the puppet phase he started out in. How does Chase know? Cloud's suspicions about Chase being connected to Shinra were confirmed.

"Do you know who died the day I left your useless kids behind?" Chase asked.

"My kids are not useless!" Cloud roared.

"Do you, or not?"

Cloud thought back to the radio broadcast but couldn't remember them announcing a name, so he shook his head.

"My father," Chase answered. "Rufus Shinra,"

Cloud's jaw dropped. "Shinra? That's not right, your last name isn't--"

"Cloud, it's like unjumbling the letters. Change the position of the s and the n and you go from Hirsan to Shinra."

Cloud was shocked wih realisation. How could he be so stupid? But what did the son and heir of Shinra want with him? "What do you want from me?"
