"I was sleeping Trent!""Stop lying. Where were you?!"
"I was here all day!"
"Stop allat crying before I give you a reason to for real!"
That was all I heard echo throughout my bedroom as I muted my TV. I sat in my usual spot on the edge of my bed and just listened.
"Baby, I've been sleep since I got home from work!"
"I stopped by your job and you wasn't there!"
"I was the-"
A loud thump followed right after that, shaking the huge painting on my wall.
This has been going on for about ten minutes now I seriously couldn't take another minute of it. It was a daily routine for my neighbors. And then there was my daily routine as well. Leaving. Yea I could move and not let the loud noise get to me, but I got more important stuff to worry about. Plus my past would definitely make it extremely hard for me to get into anything right now.
I grabbed my hat and jacket, proceeding to walk towards my front door. As I locked both locks, one of them came out.
"What up." I glanced up, seeing it was the boyfriend. I simply nodded. I wasn't too friendly. I kept to myself. I may be in a new city, but I was the same ole me.
As I walked out of my apartment building, I bumped into someone simply because I wasn't paying attention. Her skin tone was dark, dark brown eyes, and jet black hair that hung in the middle of her back. She was indeed beautiful.
"My bad," I told her.
She smirked. "No you're fine. Looks like we both were in a hurry to get to our destination. I know I am."
I chuckled and then went to go hold the door open for her. "Thanks."
I watched her disappear into the building, and was especially watching her backside. I was tempted to get her number just to see what she was all about, but I didn't feel like getting to know someone new right now.
----
Later that night, I decided to stop at the café that was right beside my apartment building. The night was still young and I still wasn't in the mood to hear yet another argument from my neighbors. The bell above the door rang as I opened the door slowly, all while glancing around. To the right was the counter where the food and drink ordering took place. A few people were in line. Matter of fact, there were quite a few people here. I spotted a seat in the corner of the building right next to a bookcase. I took big, long steps towards the single couch, hoping no one would get there before I do. And luckily they didn't.
Sliding my backpack off my shoulder, I sat down. I glanced around once more, taking everything in. It was quiet as usual with the exception of small conversations, people typing away on their laptops, and the coffee makers grounding up whatever that was requested. I glanced at the time on the wall.
7:48PM
Perfect. I still had about 3 hours before they closed. I pulled the book from my bag entitled Reflections of A Man. My mom sent me this book. She wanted to know if what everything that was being said, is somewhat true. She always called to ask my option on something. My sister used to always do that too. Man, I miss them.

After reading nonstop for almost two hours, my eyelids began to feel very heavy. I finally looked around the café again, and there were maybe about ten others here as well. I placed my book back into my bag and then threw the bag over my shoulder, standing up in the process. Their line for drinks wasn't long at all, so I decided to grab some coffee and a few cookies before going home.
