*Rosie's POV*

I sat in my spot, my eyes wide as I glanced from my mother, to Harry to Emma. "You didn't say you had company," she finally spoke, keeping her gaze on Harry; taking in his features. "And this little one, is this Emma?" she asked," her gaze focused between the two as my words were lost beyond me. "Where are my manners," Harry started, pulling himself from his crouching stance next to Emma. "I'm Harry," he added, walking over to my mother, placing a hand out. "Katherine," she replied, her voice stern and holding, a tint of cold to it. "Nice to meet you, you look lovely today," he responded, pushing away her tone. She looked past him, keeping her gaze on Emma. "Um Harry, could you give me and my mum a minute, please," I smiled and at him. He nodded, giving my shoulder a squeeze as he passed. "Come on Em, let's go finish in the kitchen," he said, holding a hand out to Emma. She gladly accepted, slipping her hand around his index finger-following him into the kitchen. She gazed back once before disappearing into the kitchen next to Harry. Silence stood between me and my mother once again. "He's not my-" "I know," she cut me off, not allowing me to finish. A sigh left my mouth, before turning my attention to my mother once more. "Why would you assume he's not?" I asked, crossing my legs over one another as I waited a reply. A rather loud chuckle escaped her lips, making her almond eyes shut as her head tilted back. "Oh Rosie," she began. "He's no where near your type," she finished, shoving a little smirk at the end. My eyebrows furrowed together, watching my mother take my life in amusement. "What?" she asked once her posture was straight again. "Why do you think he's not 'my type'?" I asked, putting an emphasis on the ending. Her smiled dropped, as if all the screws fell out of her perfectly shaped face. "I'm sorry mom-it's just, you're so judgmental. Why can a guy like Harry be my boyfriend? Because you're used to my stuck up asshole exes?" I questioned, feeling my face turn red and heart fasten as her face changed several times. "Now if you excuse me, I have things to do. I'll show you to the door," I calmly said, standing and walking towards the hall, stopping shortly until my mother finally stood from her seat. "Disrespectful," she hissed, shaking her head as she walked passed me. "Throwing your mother out, but allowing your 'guy friend' to stay," she continued to rant as she started walking down the driveway. "But kicking your daughter out and making her feel abandoned is even better? Right mom?" I shouted, watching her turn right before she hit her cherry red car. "That was your fault Rosalyn, not your dad and I's. All we tried to do was raise you right," she responded before getting in and starting her engine. "Rosie, someone's calling you," I heard Harry call from the inside. "Coming," I shouted, shutting the door I could watch my mom take off.
