Chapter 5

"I'll spend forever wondering if you knew, I was enchanted to meet you."

-Enchanted, Taylor Swift

A/N: Again, I do not own anything and I have of course changed places and events in time to make sense for my story. Enjoy!

Eleana walked through the gardens of King's Landing, her hands grazing every shrub, every flower, and every plant. She relished in her newfound freedom. Since arriving to this wretched place two sunrises ago, she had not a moment alone. For once she had evaded Gerold. Some Dark Knight of Dorne, she mused. Walking the same gardens her mother strolled through the last days of her life gave Eleana a sense of closeness she never had, and in some odd way it was almost like her mother's emotions still haunted this place. She could feel everything from love, happiness, fear, anger, too hopelessness. It was too much for one woman to bear all alone. It was too much for her to imagine.

"Umffh!" She fell to the ground like a bag of sand, her gold dress splayed across the plush green grass.

She looked to see who the culprit was but instead was greeted with piercing dark eyes. Yet instead of freezing like anyone else would, she moved her hand to the creature's nose for it to sniff. Too her surprise, he liked what he smelled and nuzzled his colossal head into the crook of her neck.

She pets the wolf's grey coat, "You remind me of my Rajah. Maybe you two could have been playmates, he would have quite liked your curiosity."

The wolf looks at her and she feels like he understands her, which she knows should be a ludicrous notion but to her it was just normal. "Perhaps in another life, you two could have been friends. He is a tiger though, I am not sure if wolfs and tigers mix. But there is an exception to every rule."

"Come on let me get up, and you my new friend can continue along with me, that is if you want too." She was met with his head nuzzling under the palm of her hand so she assumed that gesture meant yes.

She had been walking around the gardens her mother once roamed for what seemed like hours, and every so often she would look to her side and make sure the grey wolf was still there, and he was. He is like my protector. The thought of the wolf beside her as she walked down the same gravel paths as her mother before her comforted Eleana, a belief she thought was impossible before now.

When she and the wolf beside her exited the gardens she heard a deep voice call from behind her, "Grey Wind."

She turned to her side to see the owner of the voice but as she did, she noticed the wolf beside her did not budge one inch from his spot, which served to exasperate the man in the black doublet further as he started walking toward the pair.

"My lady, please except my apologies Grey Wind invaded your private time, something he should not be doing." The man looked the wolf sternly in the eyes and the wolf looked down in shame.

"No apologies are needed my lord, I quite enjoyed Grey Wind's company." She smiled at him, as she looked him over, he was clearly a northerner with his thick black leather doublet and matching britches. But, behind his clothing which she assumed was fashionable for the North she saw the blue of his eyes, she was amused his eyes shine like gems. She then noticed his auburn hair that was auburn, like a sunrise in Dorne. Something about him seemed to enrapture home, she scoffed for how could a Northener enrapture home?
