Chapter 6:
You say space will make it better
And time will make it heal
I won't be lost forever
And soon I wouldn't feel
Like I'm haunted
-Take me Home, Jess Glynne
A/N: Again, I do not own anything but my own character! I also have had to manipulate times and places for my story to make sense! Enjoy!
Deep breathes, deep breathes, deep breathes. She chanted those words to herself like a mantra. She looked at herself in the looking glass. Long dark locks highlighted by the sun fell down her back. She pinched her cheeks to add color to them. She then looked at her dress which was a vibrant shade of teal. The color always brought out her eyes and how deep and endless they were.
"My lady, I have something for you." Eleana turn around to her septa, with a welcoming smile. She was so happy that her Uncle Oberyn insisted she bring Raina with her, her presence was having a small comfort of home.
"What is it?"
"Read the letter first my lady." Her septa then placed a velvet box on her lap, attached was a dark red envelope that had her name scrawled on top.
My Sweet Water-Lily,
Long have the days passed since you were a child who I used to chase around the water gardens of Sunspear. You are now a woman. You have grown into a spectacular woman-strong, fierce, and above all brave. You have grown into the woman your mother would want you to be and I know in my heart of hearts she is looking down on you and smiling.
I know I have sheltered you from the cruelness of this world as long as I could, but now it is time for you to be brave. I think that this gift will help you do exactly that. Remember my little Eleana there was no braver woman than your mother and her blood ruins through your veins.
But above all, remember who you are and the great name you bear.
Always remember you are a Martell,
Uncle Oberyn
Eleana smiled at the end of the letter, though the dragon's blood mixed with her mothers. She was always a Martell above all. Her nature was that of the Martell's. That of fire and passion, she felt everything with the intensity only a Martell can.
She opened the box to see a dazzling headband tiara, and as her fingertips grazed over the top of the trinket she had never felt more like a Princess of Dorne than she did sitting in the Red Keep of all places.
Eleana gently took the tiara from its box and gave it to her speta to intertwine in her hair.
"This was your mother's tiara." Her septa's voice was quite as she fixed the tiara in place.
