Eyes Open: Jayfeather

I open my eyes, laying in my best, but I see nothing.

I open my eyes, sorting herbs, but I see nothing.

I open my eyes, eating prey, but I see
nothing.

I open my eyes, searching for herbs, but I see nothing.

I open my eyes, talking to others, but I see nothing.

I open my eyes, and smell their scent, but I see nothing.

My heart aches, I miss her, I knew she was beautiful, but I never saw her.

I knew his grunt, I knew her tune, but I saw nothing.

They let me know, they describe the scene, but I see nothing.

I listened closely, she taught me things, but I saw nothing.

He led us, he loved me, he cared, but I never saw him.

She watched, she stared, she glared, she loved me, but what did she look like?

He made me, he trained me, but not in the way you would think, and I saw nothing.

She had me, she was with me, she stayed through and through, but I never saw her.

This is me, who I am, when my eyes are open, for when my eyes are open, I see nothing...

A/N: I know... Bad for my first poem. I'm not very poetic... BUT HEY! I tried :3 ~Misty
