Pat pat... My housefolk pat, there hands upon my head.

Pat pat... I walk away, I want to be out there instead.

Tap tap... I tap the window, I tap tap the glass.

Push shove... The window goes, I step into the grass.

Hop hop... There I go, I hop onto the fence and crouch.

Thanks thanks.... That I'm not a loner, or I would have to go to other cats and vouch.

Wonder wonder... What lives, what lives beyond there?

I wonder wonder... If I went, if I could catch a hare.

I see trees, bushes, rocks, gravel, and grass.

And look, it's a plant! It's grown into a mass.

Rocks, pebbles, everywhere, by what about my friends?

For I had one day promised we'd be friends until the end.

I don't know if what I'll find will be good or vile.

But today is the day that I go
Into The Wild.
