Lilly had known about what she was ever since she could remember. Her parents, one being an angel and the other a warlock, couldn't really keep her lineage a secret from her, not that they wanted to anyway. Her family was from a rich and famous house. They were famous because each and every single generation only had two children, a boy and a girl. The boy was able transform into a leopard and the girl being able to transform into a magnificent tiger. Both of the children were astonishing fighters in each generation. There was only a few people in the world that could turn into a tiger. Obviously those few people are in her family. She was the first in her family to be part warlock, being that her dad was one. Her mother had met him in the beautiful city, Viatrix, when she was only twenty. Soon after they met they had fallen in love and started dating. A year after that her mother had fallen pregnant with her brother, Ethan. They we're rushed to get married by Lilly's grandmother, who mind you didn't want the prestigious family name to be ruined by a poor warlock name. Two years after Ethan, Lilly was born on the 1st of June. She was born with big gold eyes and light blonde hair. When she was little her mother used to tell her stories of when she was younger and how when she was sixteen she was selected to be a shifter hunter.
Now fifteen years later, she was sitting in her first maths class of the second term. Maths, to her, seemed like the most boring and useless lesson ever. It was even worse than her German class, with the teacher that actually had an old smacking whip that he kept up on the top of the class cupboard. Mr Simmons was as grumpy as a fire cat that had just been shaken awake from its precious sleep. Lilly's eyes were slowly skimming across the room. She was looking for something amusing, after boring herself to death drawing for most of the lesson, but as usual she found nothing but her maths teacher, Ms Melton staring her down with beady black eyes. Lilly awkwardly looked down at the question she had been trying to solve for ten minutes, attempting to look like she was doing something. To her luck Ms Melton decided she was going to check on where Lilly had gotten up to. She stood up, as quiet as a mouse but as menacing as a wild lion. Lilly attempted to cover her scribbles and drawings but prominently failed to do so. Ms Melton, not looking impressed snatched up the already half broken book and accidently broke it even more in an attempt to look mean. Her head was vigorously shaking, showing her undesirable double-chin. 'See me at lunch' she said with an even more undesirable voice.
The bell rang for recess (first lunch). Lilly walked from her maths class, over the old concrete courtyard and sat down at the rickety wooden table where she usually met with her friends. After a few minutes of waiting she looked down at her phone and started typing a message to send to her friends to tell them to hurry up. Almost on que the four of them appeared walking across the courtyard. Gabi and Alex were loudly talking about how boring their last class was and how they had tones of homework to do. Henry and Elaina were probably talking about what they were going to have for lunch from the canteen. It was either wedges or a chicken burger.
They sat down at the table dispersing from their previous conversations. Lilly spoke with a sigh, 'I have to go see Ms Melton at lunch again'. 'HAHA, really' Alex and Gabi blurted out almost in unison. 'How come'. Henry was the only one in the group who could ask a proper question. 'I was drawing instead of doing my work' she said sighing with boredom. 'You're always drawing, god' said Elaina looking at her and giggling. 'I forgot my recess again' said Lilly in a pleading voice. 'Fine you can have these biscuits' Alex said holding out a clear plastic container with three yummy white biscuits inside. 'Thanks' she said while stuffing her face with her new found treasure.
The biggest tomboy Lilly knew was Alex. She had muscly legs and arms like a boy but had a bit of shape at her waist that showed that she was a girl. Gabi was tan with a teasing smirk. She had piercing blue eyes that could make any boy follow her around for a day. Her dark brown straight hair was rarely ever seen up in a ponytail. Probably because she thought it didn't go well with the circular shape of her face. Elaina on the other hand was never seen with her hair down. She liked to look smart and proper, probably because her mum expected that she would. Henry was a tall lean boy with short and stubby ginger hair that looked like it could never be tamed. He had palish skin that was submerged beneath millions of freckles.
After recess she had History, which wasn't exactly the most boring class ever but it wasn't her favourite. Lilly almost immediately started day dreaming as soon as she got in the class. Remembering what her mother had told her so long ago about Viatrix, the most beautiful city in all the realms. The sky as blue as can be, the three suns and two moons that could all been seen at the same time during the summer. In the very middle of summer they would all a line and form a huge circle of dark, light and shadowed shapes. The famous bridge, Clirance, with its beautiful architecture and marble linings. The water that swayed beneath it was as clear as the finest crystal. The main street filled with wonder and vibrant colours. She could see herself standing there, with all the wonderful things surrounding her. 'Ah emm' she was rudely snapped into focus by her neighbour, Tom. He had strawberry-blonde hair and a million freckles all over his body that over lapped each other. He was, as one might put it, a loner and a stuck up little prick, that fortunately no one liked or talked to. However tried to talk to him would end up turning away and never wanting to see him ever again. Lilly had the unfortunate experience of having to talk to him for a reflection on her essay. Him being a prick, had to go and correct every single mistake, big and small and give her a whole teaching about how dumb and useless she was at English. She stared at Tom with haunting eyes, as if to say "go to hell". Almost immediately she regretted her decision, as he glared at her for the rest of the lesson.
