Chapter 6

Christina's POV

Why did Alpha Jed bring me  up on stage? He should know that I don't like being on stage or being the center of attention. Suddenly he cleared his throat to get everyone's attention, pretty unnecessary if you ask me because everyone's eyes were already trained on us. So, he took my hand and dragged me all the way towards the centre of the stage that had at least 10 mics and their stand. Obviously. Everyone was looking at us even more curiously, if that was possible. I spotted Xavier in the crowd along with Melissa. He was waving madly at me while Melissa was trying to calm him down... I think, or was she doing the same thing?

Suddenly, Alpha's voice echoed all over the amphi.

"Hello? Check 1,2,3, check. Okay so, it's working. Hello everyone and welcome to the story night.  Today, though, might be a little different because we will have another ceremony before the actual story".

The crowd buzzed with excitement. Alpha continued

"Okay, so I know most of you will be confused as to who the girl beside me is. Her name is Christina Destiny Brown and she is  a Rogue. But before you guys start asking questions, I would like her to introduce herself to all and then I will tell you what the other ceremony is. Christina, introduce yourself to everyone and don't be shy."

I nervously took one of the mics  in my sweaty palms and looked up at the inquisitive eyes.

"Uh, hi guys. I'm Christina. As Alpha said. I, um, God, I'm bad at this thing! Okay, so, I ran away from my old pack and came upon this pack's territory and your alpha took me in. Well, not exactly took me in but you know, let me stay for a while, fed me, not literally. And I also made some really great friends. This is a complete 360 from how I lived at my old pack, but a good 360." I told everyone. Realization dawned on some faces while others till had confused looks on their faces.

"I'm not gonna say anything until Christina is okay with it but today, when I saw her interacting with everyone especially Xavier, I saw a spark in her eyes, a spark which was not there when I first found her in the woods. She instantly clicked with Alex and Melissa and Xavier's  just a whole other story. He gave her an award winning speech, which I must say even made me tear up a bit. The way she was interacting with them, to anyone, it would have looked like they were a family the sweet moments, the playful banter, everything. They had a special bond, a bond so strong that it even shocked me." Jedadiah told the awestruck crowd.

Even I was speechless and to be honest, I'm sure I had a few tears running down my face. I didn't care that my make up was probably ruined, lets just hope Melissa used waterproof make up, but Jed was far from finished.

"I'm sure all of you must have noticed that bond when Christina walked in and she was talking to Xavier and Melissa. I am not cruel enough to break that bond, which is why I'm asking you, Christina, would you like to join The Blood Fire Pack? If she agrees, we will have the proper ceremony, if she doesn't, then we'll see to it that she is in a safe place and in proper conditions. So, will you join our pack?"

Now I was shocked, along with everyone else in the stadium. Alpha Jedadiah of The Blood Fire pack, the strongest pack in the world wants me to join his pack? Me, a worthless, weak, useless, ugly, pathetic, out casted loser? I looked at the crowd and saw Xavier looking at me with proud and loving eyes, something I have NEVER experienced before, and Melissa looking at me happily. In that moment, I knew I'd accept alpha Jed's offer because even though it has only been a day, I have formed a special bond with this pack. If I said no, I don't know what I'd do. If I wasn't accepted into this pack, I knew I wouldn't have handled another rejection, I was too attached to this pack to let go now. I held my head high and replied with as much confidence as I could muster.
