The date is October 31st, 2010, and the school grounds are eerily silent. In the westernmost dorm, on the highest floor, a student, Taylor Saunders, appears to wake. Her eyes are too blank, too lifeless, for her to truly be awake. She wanders the halls for a time, occasionally sneaking into others' rooms to steal their lighters, or cans of hairspray. Nearing midnight, she silently makes her way back to her room, and breaks all but one lighter. She spreads the flammable contents around her room. Using the only unbroken lighter, she sprays the aerosol can of hairspray into direct flame and ignites an inferno. The flickering flames slowly consume her as she stares blankly into the distance.
