I believed that the only solution to the problem was for me to change, to become a Vampire.
Of course it wasn't what I had wanted for myself, but it was either that or deadly consequences. I kept telling myself that it would allow me be with Duke forever and that in itself would be worth it.

It had been three days since Hugo had visited me in my bedroom. He told me that I was to give myself up or my loved one's would get hurt. How was I to ignore that? I couldn't.

We needed to act fast, decide what was going to happen before someone got killed. But that was all overturned when I woke on Friday morning and found what I did.

Sleep had been uncomfortable, restless, i'd wake a lot, cold and lonely as Riley sat in my room, lounging on the couch as he played his game console all night. I was back on protection duty, something that i tried to argue, but of course, it happened anyway.

"Morning princess" He greeted as i groaned upwards, rubbing my eyes.

"Go away" I mumbled.

"I can now, thanks ma'am" He grinned, hoping up from the lounge before leaving the room. I needed a shower, i needed to wake up and get started on sorting this crap out.

Once i was awake, clean and my brain began to start running again, i wandered downstairs to feed myself before i was to begin digging into what my next move would be, but as i did my mouth dropped, my hear stopped and i felt my brain stop working at the sight at the bottom of the stairs.

There, beside Duke, stood Seth. I hadn't seen him in a good month or two, i was starting to think i was never going to see him again. After the frozen shock, i pelted towards him, flinging myself into his happy charming arms. He looked just as pleased to see me as i was him. He picked me up with strong arms and spun me around before dropping me back down, our arms still connected.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, unable to move away my wide grin.

"Visiting" He shrugged casually.

"For long i hope" I half asked.

"As long as you want me here sunshine" He answered back.

I smiled wider "So what's been happening, we have a lot to catch up on"

"We certainly do" He spoke, his smile slowly fading as he averted a quick gaze towards Duke, who still stood beside us, his hands in his pockets as he stared at the floor, not at all happy.

"What's wrong?" I asked, my smile vanishing slowly like Seths had as i looked in between Duke and him.

"I have some... strange news" Seth answered as Duke gave him a look before walking off towards his study.

"Outside?" I asked, gesturing to the front door. Seth just nodded and led me outside where the blue sky hovered above, bright and beautiful. The sun felt hot against my skin, but it was relaxing, real.

I followed Seth to a bench underneath a small pergola near the front gates. It was shaded over by overgrown tree's and reminded me of Gloria and her seats in the garden.

"What's the news?" I asked as soon as i sat down opposite him.

He looked down at his hands clasped together on the wooden table top as he spoke. His face seemed calm, yet troubled.

"Did Duke ever tell you about Thomas?" He asked, pushing me back a little. It certainly wasn't what i was expecting.

I nodded "He was a cure too"

"He was" Seth answered looking back up at me "Not anymore"

My eyebrows creased with confusion, Duke had told me Thomas was killed, found out and drained of blood "There's something else going on isn't there?" I asked, feeling that another blow was about to present itself.
