~Phil's P.O.V~
"Are you sure you'll be alright sweetie?" My mother asked for what felt like the thousandth time. I chuckled and gave her a look of reassurance. "I'll be fine! I'm not going too far away. Besides, it'll be good to get away from here... No offence!" I was quick to comfort her when she pouted. It was about time I left though, I'd been living here for 22 years. I needed to get out and stand on my own two feet."Oh honey, I'm just going to miss you so much," she sobbed. I did feel bad for her though. Now that I was leaving, she'd only have my dad to keep her company. Martin moved out ages ago, and it was my turn to fly the nest.
"I'll miss you too, mum. But this is it! This is my future. This shop is going to be amazing, and I have a super nice house that you can come and visit!" I beamed. It wasn't exactly the nicest house ever, considering there was a child abandoned there 11 years ago, but it was a good enough start.
"I'm so proud of you, son," my dad put his hand on my shoulder and smiled. All I'd ever wanted was to make my family proud, and here I was, ready to step into the world and say "I'm Phil Lester and I can do anything!" Well, maybe not anything, but having my own shop and house was pretty awesome.
I picked up my bags and loaded them into my car, ready for the two hour journey ahead. Mum had packed me lunch and snacks, and pretty much everything other than the kitchen sink. She disappeared inside again and rushed upstairs, saying she had forgotten something.
"You take care of yourself Phil, I know how clumsy you can be sometimes," dad chuckled.
"Don't worry, I'll be fine. The most dangerous thing I'll be doing is climbing a ladder to restock, that's it," I grinned. It wasn't often my dad was concerned about me, but I could it was genuine. He was probably warning me to be careful so my mum wouldn't worry though.Mum came running back out with something behind her back. Once she got over to us, she showed us the hidden object; Lion. I groaned as she held it out for me to take.
"Mum, I'm 22, I don't need Lion anymore!" I argued. She gave me a disapproving glare, and my dad gave me a look that said 'just take the damn thing before she cries again'. Reluctantly, I took the little lion teddy from her hands and put it in the passenger seat of my car.
"Well, this is it!" I let my arms fall to my side. Mum wrapped her arms around me in a crushing embrace, and I thought she wouldn't let go. Dad had to pry her off me so I could get into the car.
"I'll come and see you soon, I promise," I smiled. Mum was crying again, but this time it was tears of joy. Her little baby was all grown up. I gave my parents one last grin and wave before driving off on my own adventure.

After jamming to Muse and Fall Out Boy, I finally arrived at my new house. It wasn't much to look at, with an overgrown garden and strange plants growing up the walls, but that could be easily fixed. The door was a light blue, the walls a faded white. The porch protected the door. The windows were all dusty, but I could clean them in no time. What really caught my eye was the boy standing outside, staring at the house. He looked upset, almost angry. Did he want this house? Why did he have such a big backpack? So many questions without answers whizzed about in my head. I parked the car and clambered out, walking over to the boy. I cleared my throat as I approached, startling him.
"Uh... Hi!" I greeted, practically throwing my hand at him to shake it. Slowly, he took my proffered hand and shook it warily. He muttered some form of greeting as he pulled his hand away.
"I'm Phil Lester, I've just moved here, to this house actually. Do you know the area well?" I offered my most warming smile as I awaited his reply. He shuffled nervously, his long brown curls falling over his eyes. He swept them away and looked directly at me. He was gorgeous. I'd never seen such rich brown eyes before, and his facial structure was amazing. I knew I was gay before, but if I didn't, he would definitely confirm it. And it was even better when he spoke.
