" Gahoundan Silvermane, up now, the trial of strength starts soon." Gahoundan knew what this meant, today he was gonna become a man.

Gahoundan sat up from his resting place and passes his gaze onto his father, Leerus. "I know father, I'm up. I'll be leaving soon to see what I must do for the trials." Gahoundan bellowed.

"Good and eat something before you go, wouldn't want to leave on an empty stomach." He stood.

Even though he was only 16 he stood 9 feet tall, and weighed 350 lbs of pure muscle. Browned skin and long silver hair that draped over his shoulders. Dwarfing his father easily. He left his tent and headed to the fire just out side where his father was making soup.

"Rabbit and Bird stew again father?" Asked Gahoundan tiredly as he wiped the sleep from his eyes.

"Boy, it's warm out at the moment here. It's a rainforest in the summer, but a frozen wasteland in the winter. So enjoy before all we have to eat is berries and snow." They laughed, he thought his father was funny. Gahoundan quite enjoyed Leerus's humor. He quickly ate the soup.

As he took off his father called out. "Gahoundan come back home." Leerus shed a single tear, hiding it well but not well enough.

Gahoundan smiled a small smile as he spoke "Nothing can stop me from coming home." They embraced and he quickly left not wanting to be late to the trials.

As Gahoundan walked through the encampment he towered over tent and person alike. He spotted the Cheif's son Rorke Brognorak with some maiden.

"Hail, Rorke you should hurry, you would not want to miss the trial of strength this morning." Gahoundan called.

"The only think I plan on missing is you cutting me down." Rorke laughed. The Chiefs son was awfully cocky but it was humorous among barbarians. Jokes of death didn't seem to phase them.

"Let's go then that we may fight soon and prove ourselves." Gahoundan chuckled along side his rival.

As soon as they arrived Chief Brognorak announced "Good now we can begin, boy's grab armor and a weapon."

Gahoundan grabbed a great sword and studded leather. His father taught him to make a strong use of light armour, to nimbly dodge opponents attacks, and where to have them hit to negate damage. Leerus taught him how to parry, a skill that will greatly aid him in the battle against outsiders.

"Now you are to hunt one small group of bandits each, and return once you have killed five. Bring back evidence of all five kills. We don't want outsiders moving into our land. Hunt well and may the great Owls watch over you."
