Cuts and Arrows

PROLOGUE

The soldiers pant heavily as for the opposing side made a truce at the moment. They looked around and saw that the once green grasses of the battle field of the planet Urias, has turned to nothing but ash and destruction. One solider walks into the general's tent, a being is sitting at a small wooden desk. A black cloak covers their face, and a crossbow in hand. Lists of battle strategies are scattered along the desk. And also a bowl of strawberries. "Come and sit, solider." They say, their voice is at a certain pitch where you really can't tell if it's female or male. The solider sits on the a rough surfaced chair (which is probably wood as well) and looks up at the general. A worry written face the solider put on as he will ask a very serious question. "General I just wanted to ask you, what is reason we are fighting this war? Please answer just to refresh my memory!" Says the solider quickly. The general seems to relax at the question since thinking it was something personal. "Well that's an easy one, we are trying to overthrow the neighboring kingdom. The reason is an easy one also, that kingdom as been threatening our beloved royal family. The Queen is with child, did you know that?" The solider shook his head vigorously. "Well you might want to keep that to yourself. That's classified information, got that kid?" He shook his head again. "They have been making these terrible threats, for example the time they video messaged us and their King himself told me that if we didn't stop trading our goods with neighboring kingdoms, that there would be bloodshed. And of course we thought he was bluffing, but it turns out he doesn't and that's one of the reasons we are in this war." As the solider processed this information, the general walked around and looked at a holographic map. Trying to figure out where they should attack next. "Oh! And general?" "Yeah kid" "What was that secret weapon you were talking about on the battle field?" The general then turned to the solider, looking strangely happy. "It's not a what, it's a who. Now go and catchup on your sleep solider!" "Yes g-general!" The solider stuttered out and ran to go back to his tent. Meanwhile the general opened their desk and took out a small picture. It was small and appeared to have a girl on the shoulders of a tall woman, both are smiling happily at the camera. The general manages to crack a small smile before putting it back in the desk. "Can't wait till you get here, kid."
