My pale legs dangled over the bridge, as I watch the small birds in the mud as my feet sway. The cars buzz quickly past behind me as I feel the gust of the wind as each drive past. It's weird to think each driver has a different story. I turn to my side, leant against the pillar behind me, as I try to peer into each window, imagining the drivers stories.
I stand up, staring at the road, the busy cars, as I face my attention back down to the muddy, rocky drop. Someone notice me. Please. I look around at the cars. Am I invisible? My hands begin to shake. My feet shuffle forward, looking back at the cars. Please, just save me, anyone. I look back at the drop, as my legs move forward, allowing me to join the birds, to be at peace, to join the mud and the rocks. I always imagined my whole life before my eyes, but I was numb, as I felt my body fall, as well as my life.Walking along, my brown leather brogues clicking against the worn away stone pavement. My arms shaking, as I look to the ground, as I twiddle my thumbs against each other. Nothing was familiar, except the smell of a bonfire. I glance around, there was no one here.. The painting peeling off the walls, moss covering everything. I continue walking, my heel clicking against the pavement. Surely I should find someone soon. My head constantly looking around, trying to find some form of civilisation. I hear music, away in the distance, I continue walking towards it. I hear chanting along with it... Maybe it's a track, or maybe someone's there. I speed up walking, eager to find someone. Anyone.
Turning the corner to my right, hearing the music, there was a large square. The music blaring out. People dancing and chanting. I see someone sat down watching, their back facing towards me. I walk over, making my way to approach this figure. I walk in front of the small wall they was leant against, looking down at them. An old man, a grey beard, his face plastered in wrinkles wearing away. He looks up at me. His face emotionless, his eyes empty. I sit down beside him, unsure whether to speak. 'H-hello, would you, er, mind if I uh- ask you a few things?' My voice quivering, avoiding eye contact, I stare at the dancers. I feel his head turn towards me, slowly. 'What do you wanna know, kid?' his voice low, and hollow. I keep avoiding the eye contact, staring at the dancers still, taking note of their brown themed worn away clothing. 'Wh- Where am I?' I mumbled. He chuckled slightly, which then turned into a hoarse cough. 'You've got a lot to learn, kiddo'.. He kept referring to me as Kid or Kiddo. I then turn to face him, his long grey beard dangling before my eyes. 'And, how might I learn?' My voice shook less, as I stared at him. He stared back. He then began to laugh, once again. He opened his mouth to speak, before he had chance, a small boy ran over to him, calling him by name. 'Ed! Edward!' The small kid looked roughly 6, wearing all brown, with loose curls in his hair to his ears. The mysterious old man turned to face the small kid, before then picking him up and placing him on his lap. They both then looked up at me. 'Johnny, meet the newbie. What's your name, kiddo?' The old mans hollow voice echoed through my ears. 'Uh, I'm Ally'. I looked down at the child, then back at the man. The small boy grabbed my hand. His hands cold, and rough, not like a child's should be. 'Johnny, show her round a bit, would you, boy?' The old man looked down at the child, I assume the little boys name was Johnny. He stood up, tugging me along with him, as he grabs my hand lightly. We begin to approach a building, worn down like every building here. It was made of wood, which was falling apart covered with moss; I'm surprised it's still standing. Johnny pushes open the door. A girl who looked about 20 was sat there. Her face young and bright, unlike the others. She looks up and smiles. I return the smile, as Johnny points at the wooden chair near her. 'Wait here Ally. Mr. Kingswood will see you in a minute' his voice soft but deep. I nod, as I look down onto the wooden floor. Johnny walks through a door insider as I sit here silently. I feel the woman turn to me, as she speaks 'do you know where we are?'. Her voice spoke so softly and innocently. I look to her 'I have no idea'. We both smiled, I guess in a way of relief, we was both in the same boat. 'I'm Alexa' she said, putting her hand forward for a hand shake. 'Ally' I spoke softly, as my hands meet her soft hands. 'What happened before you came here? Like, what do you remember last?' I ask her, full of curiosity. She looks at me in my eyes, 'I was in hospital. Everything went black. Then, I was, well, uh- here I guess?' I nodded, taking this in. 'I tried to kill myself, and now I'm here' I tell her. Silence fills the room.
