Thanks but no thanks!

Nikki's POV

She wouldn't stop, she just went on and on about him. The way he talks, the way he smiled and then she said, "You should meet him, you would really like him." The most ironic statement I ever heard in my life. "Yeah I'm sure I'll love him" I said sarcastically, though she was so wrapped up in her thoughts of him that she didn't really catch on. Then she turned to me suddenly as I was lost in thought about how I would love to leave now and what excuse I would use to get out of here without anyone suspecting my mood. Too late though because she asked, "Hey you don't look too good, are you ok?" I wasn't really paying attention to her so she gently nudged me on the arm. I looked over to her and was just able to mutter something about a test that I had forgotten about and that I would have to leave early. Just then she caught my arm and looked at me with such pleading eyes. I had totally forgotten everything that just happened, "Don't go so early, we barely spent time together, and besides Ash is with her date. Please don't leave me alone."

Curse her perfect face, and beautiful eyes and her gorgeous smile that gets me high every time. "Yeah ok I guess I could stay a little longer." She instantly lighted up and I felt that same special warmth. I knew I could make her happy, if she would just give me a chance I can really be all she wants me to be for her. "But is there something that's worrying you Nikki, you know you can talk to me right?" She looked right in my eyes and I could see that she was genuinely concerned about me which made me smile. "I knew I could get you to smile, and look don't worry about the test, if that's what's wrong and getting to you, I'm sure that you will do just fine." I decided to text Tay as we walked back to our seats.

Me: Hey, this is a disaster, she likes some other dude and she chooses me of all people to confide in about him! What the hell do I do now?!

Tay: Holy crap! Really?? aaaw Nikki am sorry, that totally sucks! But don't forget that she still doesn't know about what happened with us...maybe you should tell her and see her reaction?

Nikki: really are you sure? You don't think she will freak out?

Tay: Well then at least you will get a reaction from her? isn't that what you wanted?

Nikki: I wanted her, I want her...but hey if she is happy with this guy then who am I to try and come between them right?

Tay: that is true, just tell her about what happened with us, see her reaction and then take it from there. I promise when you are home I will call you and then we can talk the entire night about this ok?

Nikki: Ok thanks Tay! You are the best! Am like really scared though how do I do this?!

Ouch what the hell, oh crap I just walked into a wall, "Nikki, what the hell, are you ok?" Sona asked as I rubbed my head. "Yeah I'm alright thanks, was just a little distracted thats all."

"yeah you haven't put that phone down for like twenty minutes straight, who you texting if you don't mind me asking?"

Me: Text you later will let you know what happens, Tay you the best friend ever! Love ya stax!

I put my phone away, "Just my friend, we have a lot to talk about." She narrowed her eyes and looked at me, "Just a friend huh?" she winked. I laughed at her unannounced accusation and then thought that this might be a great time to bring up what happened with Tay and I. "Actually, a friend that I kinda went too far with." Her eyes grew big, "What you mean to far?" I laughed again and what was probably going through her head. She had no idea that this friend was a girl, "Her name is Tay." Her eyes grew even larger but I could see a hint of curiousness in them. "Tay is girl though?" She half questioned half stated. "Yes and so?" I said with amusement. "Wow that's interesting, so what happened?" She asked moving to the edge of her seat now. I was glad that Ash and her date were in their own world as so paid no mind to us, which made me feel like Sona and I were in our own little world again.

I didn't give her much detail on what had happened with Tay and I and I doubt she wanted it although she did seem very much interested or was that just me? "So you don't have any feelings for Tay?" I knew the answer to that question already, "No..." I guess something about that answer and the way I said it made her more interested, "Well then who do you have feelings for?" I tensed up. There was no possible way I was going to tell her how I feel now, not when she just confessed her feelings for some guy. I chuckled, "If I tell you, I'll have to kill you." She laughed and shook her head at me which made me blush a little, "Anyone ever tell you that you're hilarious?" she asked. "Get it all the time" I announced with a huge grin.

We spent the rest of the night talking about each other, I learnt a lot about her and her family and the bond they shared. She told me of her trips overseas and the people she met and how she would love to go back someday, of her cat which she loved almost more than her family and her love for the DJ Tiesto. Soon we completely forgot that Ash and her date were there, not that they minded though. It felt so right with Sona, I could make her smile so easily and laugh so naturally and she was so comfortable around me. I wish that maybe she could see that if she gave me a chance I could be so good for her, and we could be so good together.

I looked at my watch and my heart sank, it was almost half ten which meant dad would be here soon to pick me up. I didn't want to leave, not when we were connecting so well and just as I let that thought float to the top of my head causing little butterflies to simmer in my tummy I was pulled down by a rusted anchor. "He just texted me Nikki!" I couldn't take it anymore, I rolled my eyes. "I'm going now" I said sounding a little annoyed. Sona struck out a confused look mixed with a little concern and a pinch of sadness. Oh crap that was very abrupt of me could have given away everything but Sona clearly had no idea of what was really going on so I decided screw it I don't care really. I stood up, got my things and said bye to Ash and her date and then turned to Sona. "Sorry I really got to go but I had a great time." I knew I still sounded a little annoyed but I would deal with that later. All I wanted now was to get out of here and to my room. "Okay sure, yeah me too" she said uneasily as I turned and walked towards the exit.

And as I turned, BAM!

*Peyton's POV

I felt the tray slam against my chest and heard almost all the people in the restaurant gasp as I thought great there goes my pay check for another glass, but wait, I didn't hear the class break. I looked down and to my amazement I saw a girl bent down with the glass in her hand. How the hell did she manage to do that!? "Are you ok, I am so sorry about that I wasn't watching." She started mumbling to me which made me giggle a little. "it's fine don't worry" I said in amusement as she looked at me nervously. Wow she is so cute! "How the hell did you manage to catch that?" I asked. She looked at the glass in her hand and back to me and shrugged, "Um to be honest I'm not sure, I have fast reflexes I guess." She handed the glass back to me as I tried to hold her gaze. She had beautiful eyes, I could see her goofiness and I loved it. "I'm Peyton" I extended my hand to her and she blushed as she took it and announced that her name is Nikki.

"Nikki, it suits you."
