Claire is an average young girl in high school with two twists. She lives and breathes horses, which isn't something you expect from the fashionista at school. Plus, she has a unique talent to run. Setting school records in sprints to even mile races, she dominates. She's accomplished an 11.3 in the 100 meter sprint and can run a mile in 4:56.59.
Then, one day while at the stables, she is given an abused horse that just needs a little love. The horse named Golden Eagle is a golden dun thoroughbred that had a lifetime of cruelty at the races. Then, when competition grows fierce, and the fearful thoroughbred throws Claire she is grounded for months. And when she finally starts to piece her life together, strange events occur that threaten to derail Claire's dreams forever. Can she learn to love and train this horse? Or will she have to turn her back on something she has spent her life on, the seemingly unbreakable bond between girl and horse, that may be shattered with one wrong move.
When Claire was given the horse it way her barn's way of saying show us your good. But being a good horsemen means that you must learn how to fall, and to have the courage to climb back on. Of course, the journey of rehabilitating a horse is more than just the horse. It's the drama, mystery, friends, and competitive spirit that push Claire to the limits.
