The bell rang and I sprinted towards the door. I hurried to my locker, got my things, shut my locker and ran down to Sammy's locker. She was hurried too. "Come on, come on, come on Sammy!" She stopped at looked at me. "Calm. You're party ain't startin' til I'm there anyways birthday girl! Go get the others and meet outside." I nodded and rushed off the bother Amanda. She told me to wait at the flag pole, so, I stood by the flag pole waiting for Sammy. She appeared and Kristen tugged at our sleeves to get moving.
I stepped into the house and dropped my backpack and took off my shoes. The others did likewise. We slid in our socks into my room. We all took a seat, catching our breath. "What do you guys wanna do?" Sammy looked at me, "Excuse me miss, but uh, we should be asking you, not the other way around, birthday girl." Kristen started giggling and I felt my phone buzz. I pulled out my phone to look a text. Kristen laughed louder as I turned off my phone and set it down, looking right at her. "Really? Sammy..., Jordyn..., Amanda-" I cut my sentence short pointing to Kristen. They all started laughing obviously aware of what was going on. "Hey, I have an idea!" Everyone turned to Amanda, "Volleyball! Two on three."Next thing I know is that we're outside gathered around a pre-set up volley ball net, Amanda clutching the volleyball in her arm. We divided the group up, Sammy and I versus Jordyn, Kristen, and Amanda. I served the ball, and it arched beautifully over the net to Jordyn. She bumped the ball over to Sammy. Sammy set it to Amanda. Amanda tipped the ball over. I dived toward the ball hitting the ball with my fist. Sammy got the ball and spiked it over. I stood up and gave Sammy a high five. We played for at least another hour before deciding that the game was getting old. And then we were hungry. Inside the house, My mom stood in the kitchen finishing up dinner, "Hello girls, I was just about to go and get you. Come, have a seat." My mom placed a plate in front of each girl, the plate's contents streaming with warmth and wafting their aroma toward us. We all dug in stuffing our mouths full of food. Talking was almost nonexistent as we contentedly ate our food. After brownies for desert we all went back to my room, playing games for the remainder of the night.
