Don hit her, I was certain now! I can tell when she lies. I was outraged, not at her but the crap nugget. I had to help, until I figure out how I should just stay quiet. "Whatever you say.."

Once we unloaded and set up everything we sat and drank coffee waiting for the new brats to arrive. Eventually the first one came, dropped off by Mr. Whitmore. A little vampire named Rodrick, two years old. Little guy was shy, just kinda kept to himself while he drew scribbles on some construction paper.

So I went over to him.

"Hey bud, whatcha drawing?"

"Mister Moo-ster."
"He's cute."

"T-anks," he replied as he looked up at me. His eyes sparked with a hint of curiosity. "What's your name?"
"Skylar. And guess what?"

"What?" the youngin asked.

"I'm a vampire too," I whispered.

More kids were coming in, and I knew Elma would need my help. But I felt bad just leaving Rodrick...

"Hey buddy," I started, "wanna be my little helper today?"
"Yeah!"

"Yo Sky!" Elma called from the other side of the room, one kid clinging to her leg as she bounced another in her arms. "Can you start up breakfast?"
"Sure thing."

Rodrick set out the plates, myself following right behind him to put pancakes on them. Once that was done, we put out cups and set one container of milk and one of orange juice on the tables. Not all the kids were old enough to eat by themselves, I think the youngest in our group was Pen (a ghost girl) and Rodrick.

Cora, our werewolf, was the oldest at eight and a half. She got the opprotunity to help Elma and myself make sure everybody ate.

"I don't want pancakes!" shouted Darla at, of course, the top of her lungs.

"Aw c'mon kiddo, I know you like pancakes. You ate them all the time last year," I told her as I squatted next to her.

"I don't want pancakes!" she somehow screamed louder.

"Darla--"
"No!" she took the plate and threw it on the ground.

The day had barely begun and I could already tell it was going to be a long one.

"Time-out. Let's go get the stool."
"But Miss Skylar!"
"Nope, you're in timeout. Follow me."
Darla gave her best pout and crossed her arms. Looked like she wasn't going to budge.

"I'll give you until the count of three."
She still didn't move.

"One." Nothing. "Two." She uncrossed her arms. "Two and a half..." A look of panic on her face, but still not moving. "Thr--"
"Okay," she groaned. "I'll go to timeout."

By herself, she went to the stool in the corner, back faced to the other kids. I set the timer for five minutes. The rest of the kids ate with no problem. "Miss. Sky?" Rodrick called. "Yeah kiddo?"..

"Are you really a vampire? Like me?"

"You bet!"
"But... Where's your teeth....?"

"Hiding from bad guys.. Just like yours."

Let me explain, this city is ran by monsters... In disguise of course. All of us 'monsters' were given a certain job based on skill. Elma and I were chosen for the care taking until the kiddos are nine, then they get assigned a job and train for their career until the age of sixteen.. The kiddos are of course 'monsters' as well. There are humans in this town,of course... Us monsters are the majority, but we can't be exposed, humans already have a suspicion. We do no harm to them but for some reason they see us as a threat. That's why all monsters are assigned a cloak.. For most, us 'monsters' look entirely different in their human form. Us Vampires, not so much, the only thing that is unseen is our fangs. As for selkies(what Elma is) their only unseen feature is their form in the water. Selkies are difficult but amazing at the same time.. They are human on foot but form into a seal in water. Cloaks are unseen, only made by true witches. They make the cloak potion and it is inhaled. The cloak works for a year, it's kinda like a license.. It expires and you get in big trouble if it isn't renewed. Cloaks have one flaw though, they don't work when you get angry..

Only when you become calm again, they work. That's why we have to stay hidden.
