Kayla's POV

Suddenly thoughts of what happened here last time returned to my mind. I looked around, a few men at a table were staring at me, looking me over. I pulled Jace closer so his side was touching mine, wrapping an arm around his torso as he put his over my shoulder. I could feel myself shaking, wishing everyone would stop staring at me. Then Jace stopped.

"Oh shit. Kayla, I'm sorry, I forgot," he whispered into my ear as he hugged me tightly. I slowly began to remember bits and pieces of what had happened. My tears began to soak his shirt while he held me to him protectively, flipping off the people staring. Right now, I didn't care what they thought, I wanted to stay in Jace's arms. He made me feel safe, wanted, and loved. Something that my own parents could've never provided. It was then that I knew, Jace and I were meant to be.

Again, I felt Drake's presents, making me feel uneasy, and sick. His figure circled us, as if deciding what to do. Jace must've seen it too, his eyes following it instead of on me. Drake stopped next to us, reaching a shadowing arm out to me, I left go of Jace, and touched it.

'Kayla, you and I were meant to be. I don't like you seeing him, he's bad for you. Just you wait,' said the figures thoughts as it entered my brain, so only I could hear the words. Drake dropped his arm to his shadowy side, before moving behind Jace. The figure rested a hand on Jace's shoulder, Jace began to tense up, as the hand once again, ran its claws down his  back, digging them in deeper than last time. Jace bit his lip, trying not to scream as I ran over and began swatting the figure away as it disappeared.

"Jace, oh my word, I'm so sorry," I apologized as I began to cry in his arms again. I placed my arms on his shoulders, resting my hands on his back. I could feel the sticky warm blood through the now ruined shirt.

"Kayla," he winced, "it's not your fault. He's jealous that I have something that was once his that he can't have anymore. I will be fine, and so will you. So, how about instead of staying here, we go back to my place. Connor shouldn't be home till four, so that gives us about two hours to be with just each other."

I nodded in agreement as I pulled away from the hug, grabbed his hand, and towed him along as I made my way to the car.

 Jace's POV

As soon as the car pulled into my driveway, Kayla began to nervously shift in her seat. I pretend not to notice, not wanting her angry at me before my brother even met her. She looked around, examining the house threw the car window, probably wondering why it wasn't a darker color. I placed my hand on her thigh, letting her no everything would be alright.

"Here goes nothing," she whispered, probably hoping I wouldn't hear.

"Your gonna be fine, Kayla. It's only my older brother, not my parents, nor the president or Justin Bieber," I chuckled as she began to relax.

"Well what if he decides he doesn't like me and doesn't want you to see me again," she asked, worry swept over her face, replaced by blankness.

"Seriously? The only reason he wouldn't want me seeing you is so he could have you all for himself. Oh, and don't be surprised if he starts flirting with you and asking you to sleep with him, just ignore it. We will hangout with him for a bit, like twenty seconds, then go to my room till dinner. During dinner, just shovel food down your throat then we can go back upstairs to my room and hangout till whenever. Alone," I smirked as I opened the car door and stepped out onto the pavement.

"Your kidding, right? Your brother would seriously ask your girlfriend if she would sleep with him?"

"You just called yourself my girlfriend. Man, do I like the sound of that, Princess. And yeah, he would seriously ask you, seeing your not my girlfriend. Yet. But, he would probably still ask you even if we were together," I could feel my face harden, hearing myself speak the words that were all too true. Connor may try to hide how arrogant he really was, he had everyone fooled. But not me.
