It was dark and cold outside the beautiful glass door. Dehradun. A beautiful place to live. A small city surrounded by Himalayas, sivalik hills, Ganga, Yamuna has purity in the air itself. It's ticking 3:17 am in the digital placed beside me on the low wooden table. I was laying on the bed staring at the white celling of the lavish bedroom wrapped in a silk robe under warm duvets. My throat hurts. It's dry. I feel thirsty. I move a little removing the duvet to get of the bed when his hold against my waist hardens. He groans in his sleep. "Water. I am going to drink water." I speak slowly. He lets me go sliding his hand away. I slowly move out of the bed and pour water for myself in a glass. I gulp down the water and my eyes fall on the reflection of myself in the full length mirror shining in the moon light .My hair is jet black, my eyes are dove shaped. I glance at my well maintained face. My hair well set in beautiful layers. My eyebrows well threaded. I was so clean.
I looked at the figure sleeping on his stomach and turned towards the glass sliding door. I went out into the balcony slowly carefully without making any noise. The cold breeze gush to my face. It's October end. Winters will be in their full swing in the next coming months. I look up at the stars. They share a very special space in my heart. No matter what the month is. What the year is. What the day is. They were there every night.
I wrap the silk material close to the body. I slide the glass door and walk in slowly and move inside careful enough not to wake him. I lie down on the couch. I watch him sleeping peacefully. Ruining my sleep from the day I saw him. The day I got married to him. I close my eyes and tears roll down from the corner of my eyes, remembering the day when I turned Mrs. Nandani from Nandani.
