Deeks had been sitting there next to Kensi, for over 12 hours. It was three am, and he saw Kensi's eyelids slowly flutter open, and he stood up. She tried to move, and grunted.

"Don't try to move." Deeks said, "Dr. She's awake." Kensi closed her eyelids,

"It feels like someone is ripping my brain out through my eye sockets."

"Hello, Kensi. I'm Dr. Rolings."

"What happened?"

"You were hit by a drunk driver. You have many bruised ribs, a bruised left lung, broken left arm, your left leg was sliced open, you have many cuts on multiple parts of your body, and don't try to move from the waist down, there is a 70% chance you are paralyzed, and if you try to move it will be permanent." Kensi let a few tears trickle down her face, and looked at her right arm, and saw many cords connected to her IV. Her left arm was in a sling, and left leg was in a full leg brace to keep her from bending it, and loosening the stitches. "Press that button on your right if you need anything." Dr. Rolings said, and then left the room.

"Deeks." Kensi said, softly crying.

"Yea."

"Am I going to be ok?" A tear rolled down her face.

"Kensi. You're the strongest person I know. You're tougher than me, and that's tough." Kensi smiled. "Now get some sleep. It'll help with the pain." He kissed her on the forehead, and sat back down. She reached for his hand, with her right, not broken hand, he scooted closer, and grabbed it. Kensi slowly fell asleep, scared, thinking that she might not wake up.

Deeks fell asleep a few hours after Kensi did, hands still intertwined together. Deeks woke up, to Sam's touch on his shoulder.

"Deeks, do you wanna go home to shower? I can watch her for a while." Deeks slowly, and carefully moved his hand out of hers, and rubbed his eyes.

"Sure. Thanks. Tell the Dr. if she wakes up."

"I will." Sam replied. Deeks walked outta the hospital, and drove to his house. He took a shower, and changed into jeans, an LAPD t shirt, and a pair of old flip flops. He also pulled an LAPD hoodie, that smelled like him. Then, he drove to Kensi's, and unlocked the apartment with the spare key, and grabbed her phone charger, and grabbed a "go bag" that she kept in her closet for emergencies. Deeks walked out, and locked the door. Sat the hoodie and her stuff in the passenger seat, and started driving back to the hospital. When he got there, he walked in with the stuff, and found Callen there, with Sam. He laid the hoodie on the table, with the bag of her bloody belongings from the car.  He grabbed her phone, surprisingly uncracked, and plugged it into the wall to charge. He laid her "go bag" with the hoodie.

"Wow. Deeks, you thought of everything." Callen said.

"It's just a hoodie, charger, and one of her "go bags"." Deeks blushed as he said it. "Ok. I just wanted her to be as comfortable as you can be at a hospital."

"Well, I need to be on my way to pick up Cam from church." Sam said.

"Yea, I need to go meet Anna." Callen added.

"Wait, like Arkady's daughter?" Sam asked.

"Yes."

"Wow. Callen get it." Deeks said. Sam and Callen left, Deeks sat back down in the chair. Kensi didn't wake up for a while, but after 5 hours, she woke up, only because she wanted food.

"Deeks, I'm hungry." She said with her eyes closed.

"Ok, I'll get Dr. Rolings." Deeks went outside, and told the Dr. Kensi was hungry. A few mins later, a nurse came in with a cart, and on the cart was a bottled water, chicken broth soup, and a chocolate pudding.

"Marty, can you feed her? I need to take other patients their food."

"Yes, ma'am."

"Thank you!" Deeks scooted closer to Kensi, and said,

"What do you want first?"

"The soup." Kensi replied. Deeks carefully took the bowl, and got a little bit of broth on the spoon, and put it touching her mouth, tilting it back a little so the broth could go into her mouth. He had to be careful, because Kensi had no control over moving, because if she moved the wrong part, it could end up bad. Kensi finished her broth, and then wanted water. Deeks got a straw, and put it in the bottle, and held it close to Kensi's face. She sipped a little, and then Deeks put the water back on the table.

"Do you want the pudding?"

"Yea." Deeks opened the pudding, and got the spoon, he took a bite of it.

"Deeks! That's my pudding!" She pouted.

"What? I just wanted a taste." He said, innocently. Then he started feeding it to her. She finished it in no time, and then started falling asleep. Deeks sat there, staring at this beautiful person, inside and out, wondering if she ever heard what he said about her. What if she did and isn't saying anything. What if she did and doesn't like him like that? What if?
