Recently, I had someone complain to me that it was quite boring to be all alone. The person mentioned that everyone was buys, they called up a couple of people and no one seemed to be available to talk/speak/or even meet up.
Truthfully, it also made that person upset.
And that's when I came up with something - the person cannot really be bored... can they?
The fact that you're bored is that you're not thinking outside the box. You just claim to be bored because you fail to look out of the ordinary things you do everyday.
When was the last time you helped you mother with the dishes? Read your favourite book? Sat down and talked to your siblings about how their life is? Went for a jog to time your stamina? Perhaps even went on Youtube and learned a new recipe?
These are all things that you COULD be doing if you think outside the box. Often, when someone's bored, it all becomes about TALKING to someone. We suddenly get this desperate feeling to speak to someone and communicate; of course, it's a part of human nature to interact. However, ask yourself: When was the last time you had quite time to yourself?
Hm, caught you now?
Well, studies show that an average of an hour of quiet time to yourself is actually beneficial for your brain. It helps you reflect on things and definitely get your brain in order. This means that you don't have to be talking to someone when you're bored - it means that there are so many other things you can be doing with yourself that you've PROBABLY never done!
Give yourself some time to:
- Take a jog
- Go take a walk in the neighborhood
- Go window shopping but DON'T buy anything
- Play with your pet
- Play an instrument
- Bake something sweet!
- Write a short story or poem
- Compose a song
- Listen to calming music
- Meditate
There are so many opportunities! Before your life starts getting too busy once again, ENJOY the time you have now, because you won't get it back!
HOPE THIS HELPS!
