Allen reappeared in the stronghold, disheartened by his encounter with Mystery. Meanwhile Mystery was kicking and struggling while attempting to see who had tackled her.
"Mhmhm!"
The person was Alex Stone, a mutant. He picked her up and shoved her into his cloak, uncovering her mouth in the process.
"H-hey!"
The mutant grunted as if saying "Shut it."
Mystery struggled more. "Put me down! Now!"
"No."
She grit her teeth. "And why not?!"
Alex sighed. "For safety."
She growled. "What do you mean 'safety'?! Yours or mine?!"
He looked down at her. "Yes."
"And what do you want me for?!" Mystery narrowed her eyes at him.
Alex sighed again. "For safety reasons, yours and mine."
Mystery groaned at the lack of information. "Okay, explain. No one's going to harm me, Alex. Echo's still in his cell."
