     Me and Chase are sitting on the couch watching a movie with a bowl of popcorn to share. This is our usual Friday night ritual pretty much ever since I was born. There is a knock on the door and I go to answer it. I open the door and in walks my best friend and her brother. "Hey Kort!" Monica exclaims as she comes in giving me a hug. I wave at her brother Nick just being friendly as me and him have never really talked much. "Does anyone want food? Or drinks?" My brother says getting up and heading into the kitchen, "2 Sprites please!"  I yell to him as he goes and Nick follows him.  "Soo how are you and Jake?"  She asks me with a smirk on her face, "Have you and him had sex yet?"  My eyes go big and I shake my head quickly.  "No way.  I am definitely not ready to get into that kind of relationship with him yet....I don't think he deserves me...anyways I'm a virgin.  He isn't the one I want taking that from me."  She nods and agrees as she is just curious since she doesn't have a boyfriend, "Yea I understand I guess.....don't worry....if he isn't the one you will figure it out and find your soul mate.  He's out there somewhere he is just hiding and waiting until you come and find him."  I smile and laugh as that just sounds too perfect to be true.  I hear the boys in the kitchen talking over the movie and laughing at each others burps, "Eww!  This is why neither of you have girlfriends yet!"  Me and Monica yell.  They both come into the living room and Chase hands us our drinks.  "Nahh.  You girls are just jealous."  Nick says just out of the blue as he really never talks much around us girls.  "Please.  I need someone that isn't as immature as you two."  I say rolling my eyes and standing up.  "Come on Monica.  Let's go up to my room and leave these dorks to laugh at their own burps and farts on their own."  Me and her run up the stairs and go into my room to talk and catch up since it has been a while since we have hung out. 

Nick's P.O.V

Damn.  I think to myself as the girls leave and run up the stairs.  Why did I have to open my mouth and run at least Kortney away?  I really wanted to spend some time with her; even though me and her barely talk it is nice being around her.  She is a really nice person and I am just too shy to talk to her since we have known each other forever.  I have always thought she was really pretty, but I would never risk loosing my friendship with Chase since I would never get by him while liking his sister.  Especially since he is so protective of her.  Maybe someday I will be able to tell her how I feels about her and maybe get the chance to date her.  I hate acting so rude and gross around her, but her brother thinks this is who I am.  Nobody has ever seen the soft sensitive side of me.  "So is your sister still with that Jake guy?"  I ask Chase just trying to get out of my own head.  He rolls his eyes and nods, "Yes.  Unfortunately.  I really don't like him.  His attitude sucks and he never really does anything for her.  He only cares about himself most of the time."  I nod a little and take a deep breath, "Yea I can second that.  Ever since I have known the guy he has been really bad.  Always getting into trouble and not caring about who he hurts on the way.  Hopefully she will listen to you sooner or later before he hurts her in one way or another." Chase laughs a little and nods, "You and me both brother.  That is the last thing she needs bothering her right now.  She got accepted to NYU....for their online program and she is gonna be going to the community college this Fall.  Hopefully he will do something stupid that makes her want to dump him, but until then all of us have to keep pretending we like him.  Even our mom can't stand him."  I laugh and just smile as I take another drink of my soda and think about her.  Yes I wish she would break up with him soon too....That way I could maybe muster up the courage to start talking to her and at least getting a friendship out of her.
