"Hey man, wait for me!"
Jaehyun turns his back around and sees his best friend Johnny waving his hand in his direction. He notices that there is this shy, but a cute slender boy standing next to him who obviously from the looks of it had a major crush on his bestie. It's funny how last week, Johnny told Jaehyun that he had no plans to date because all he cares about is his precious basketball team since he's the captain and all, but look what he got himself entangled up with. He displays a friendly smile back at the two and walks over to their direction.
"Late as usual I see," Jaehyun says, wiggling his eyebrows at Johnny's new boy toy. It seems that Johnny doesn't want to do the introducing jazz, so Jaehyun gladly does it for him. "By the way, I'm Jaehyun, Johnny's little hoe—"
"Ouch!" Jaehyun winces and rubs his shoulder. "Dude, I was just kidding! No need to go all kung fu panda on me."
Rolling his eyes, Johnny reassures the boy next to him that they're just best friends who love to joke around. Yeah, joke around, but clearly Johnny ended up taking it a little too serious. "By the way, his name is Ten. He's going to try out for the basketball team."
Jaehyun swings an arm around Johnny and whispers into his ear. "You can't be serious man. He doesn't look like he can hurt a fly and let alone bounce a ball." In all honestly, Jaehyun had nothing against the new boy, but he didn't exactly fit the criteria to be on the basketball team, especially for tryouts. Rejection hurts and he knows it very well that Ten doesn't seem like the kind of kid who would take it lightly.
Ten manages to push Jaehyun's arm off of Johnny—wow, feisty and gladly interrupted the conversation. "Boys, I can hear everything. And, you here mister 'I don't think he's capable of bouncing a ball', I have you know that I can bounce a ball perfectly fine and shoot it through the roof."
Damn, boy was totally full of sass. Jaehyun needs Jesus. Oh holy bible, please save him from this cheeky little boy. He didn't expect someone who practically resembles a little cinnamon roll like Ten to have such a sharp tongue. Now, Jaehyun knows to never ever judge a book by its cover, ever.
"Bro, he's not lying. I saw him shoot some hoops and he got 10/10. It was amazing." Johnny exclaims, patting Ten's back and Jaehyun immediately spots the sassy boy over there happily sporting a smile that makes Jaehyun want to stick his tongue out in disgust. No wonder Johnny's sticking with the sass master over there, that kid Ten has his on a leash! Nope, Jaehyun wasn't going to risk his life to save Johnny. He was on his own. There's this saying bro before hoes, but that doesn't apply to this situation. It was nice knowing Johnny.
Now that the introduction is taken care of, Johnny walks over to his locker along with Ten behind his back. Um, didn't Johnny forget something or rather someone? He left poor Jaehyun all alone next to the water fountain as he makes small chat with Ten. Great, not only did Jaehyun get to a rough start with the new member of the team, he also lost his best friend.
Making his way to his next class, Jaehyun releases a heavy sigh because it was history. Oh god, Jaehyun despises history to the core. If there was a class that would make him fall asleep from beginning to end, then the name would be history. But just as he was about to open the door, he sees a familiar face running towards him, with a couple of heavy books in his hands. It was class president Doyoung, aka mister clumsy pants.
Well, that was the nickname that Jaehyun secretly gave to the class president. Everyone just calls him butterfingers because Doyoung was the kind of boy who would drop everything in his hands the moment he picked something up. So, it was a complete disaster if he was carrying around heavy books or a stack of papers. Coincidently, it was happening right before Jaehyun's eyes.
Any minute now, Doyoung will either trip on his untied shoelace or live up to his name of butterfingers. Of course, Jaehyun notices these little tiny details because well as much as he is a fool he sort of thinks it's kind of charming for Doyoung to trip and fall everywhere and still be so cute. Yeah, Jaehyun just really wanted to find an excuse to call Doyoung cute. But, it's not like his hyung will notice him. He's too busy dropping and slipping everywhere to bother with a delinquent like Jaehyun.
"J-Jaehyun!" Doyoung yells, making his way to him with a grin. "Our history teacher told me to—"
And there it was, the moment that Jaehyun was waiting for all his life. He was going to do it. It was time to put his feet to use and finally do something right for once. He sees Doyoung falling, hands whaling everywhere and certainly, Jaehyun scores the winning basket. Mister clumsy pants were finally in Jaehyun's arms safe and sound with his mouth gaping open. Being the totally smooth guy Jaehyun is, he tries to impress Doyoung with an ultra cool and snazzy line from one of those hit blockbuster movies.
"I like you, class president."
Oh, that didn't turn out exactly as he planned. No Jaehyun! That was supposed to be in his mind only. Now everything is completely—
"I like you too, Jaehyun!" Doyoung smiles, tilting his head cutely as he sports the most adorable pout in the history of adorable pouts. Oh-oh-oh... his heart... Jaehyun couldn't breathe, think, or—
And, that was the last thing Jaehyun remembered because he freaking faints right on the spot trying to be the cool guy, but ended up making a fool of himself in front of his crush. Unfortunately, that wasn't the last time he's going to embarrass himself. After all, even if Jaehyun despises history so much, it will always repeat itself.
