Closing the front door behind her, coming home after a long day of school felt relieving.

"Mom I'm home" she yelled but no response.
She dropped her bag to the ground before walking into the living room where her mom sat on the browm couch, a little piece of paper in her hand. She looked down as to hide her face from her daughter.

"Cara I have to tell you something," her mother sighed. "I know I should've told you sooner but I was afraid of how you would react"

"It's okay, you can tell me now" Cara said sitting down next to her mother. Getting a closer look at the paper she saw it was an old photo.

"Walter isn't the first man I married, there was another man. Mark. He's australian. We were toghetter for a few years but then I got home sick and went back to europe" Cara's mother said holding out the photograph. Up close Cara reconized her mother next to her was a tall blond man with his arms wrapped around him.

"Why are you telling me this now ?" Cara asked confused.

"Because he's here in the netherlands," her mom mumbled as a tear rolles down her cheek. "He wants to meet you"

"Mom whats the problem, I don't mind meeting him" Cara chuckled.

"No cara you don't understand," her mom spoke a bit louder. "Walter is not your father, he just pretended to be to make it easier. When Mark and i sepperated I got custody of you and he of your twin brother"

"Mom why would you be scared to tell me that?!" Cara yelled getting frustrated. "You know I don't like walter. He has never been a proper father nor husband. I can't see why you even married him in the first place. How did you keep this from me"

"I'm sorry Cara but like i said i was afraid of your reaction. What if you wanted to live with mark in australia"

"Mom" cara sighed calming down. "I would never leave you. You will always be the most important part of my live."

"Thank you cara that means alot" her mother smiled. "So you would like to meet him then, we can all meet up your brother too"

The car ride was long and dreadfull. Walter not being her father sounded like music to her ears, it was probably the best thing that has ever happened to her.

By the time cara and her mom got to the hotel in amsterdam she was shaking from nerves.

The lobby wasn't that big, from the looks of it the hotel was probably a place were people would only spent one or two nights. Her mother knew the room number so they just walked right up to the room Mark stayed in. Standing in front of the door her mother stood still contemplating on wether or not to knock on it. Cara who could not take the wait reached past her mother and knocked herself.

"Coming" yelled an unfamiliair voice from the other side of the white door.

When the door opened cara reconized the older version of the man in the photo. Mark. Her biological father.

"Joanna hi you look amazing" Mark said astonished. Looking over her shoulder he saw Vara, his eyes on the verge of tears.

"Cara I can't believe it's you" he mumbled "please come in, your brother will be here soon" as soon as they walked in cara wrapped her arms around mark. He was suprised at first but quickly hugged back smiling over her shoulder to her mother.
